i think it's more how funny it is that people actually get that pissed off over outrageous statements found on these shows. plus, 9 times out of 10, to be funny...you are going to have to piss somebody off. many of the most legendary comedians/comedy shows are based on just that. the daily show and colbert report simultaneously piss me off and make me laugh on a nightly basis.

thanks...i read kind of 'well they do it, why don't we?' sort of vibe in that original post. televised/talk show punditry on either side is not news and completely takes focus off of the REAL issues that affect us all. the 'right wing' isn't any worse about it...they are just hellagood promoters/marketers/entertainers. ...but people can (or maybe it's should) choose how politics affect them or, better yet, how they affect politics. we/our views shouldn't be defined by any one thing, science, religion, politics, favorite sports teams, nels cline fan/non-fan, etc.

Cool! Thanks for posting up. Speaking of Kirby, anybody who's a fan should grab this: It's the 50th issue of The Jack Kirby Collector, a double-size softcover BOOK instead of the regular magazine. The book spotlights the 50 Best of Everything from Jack Kirby's 50-year career in comics, including his 50 best stories, 50 best character designs, 50 best examples of unpublished art and more. It's really fucking sharp. Also speaking of Kirby, I bought my first two legitimate trade collections in umpteen years: Borrows heavily from both Kirby's art and storylines...but does such a good

sure...plain and simple, as Jude already stated, giving his rhetoric creedence, whether you are listening or not, still acts as an advertisement for his show. there will be those that tune in to see how much they disgree with him and/or even engage him in battle over what he's saying. this also serves to further perpetuate the validity of the show to those who do agree with him. i don't know if you ever saw 'private parts', that flick about howard stern, but there was a scene that summed it up nicely. the NBC suits were talking about his ratings and a huge portion of them ended up being peop

several years ago, i attended a funeral in charles's home base of prescott, AZ. while i never had time to hang w/ charles, i did have a fantastic experieince talking w/ the assistant manager at his local walgreen's, the one who wears a boss pin on his blue vest that looks like pinhead from the hellraiser flicks. he and charles are pretty tight.
