  1. how have they held up? i've never spent that much on a watch, ever. in fact, i'm rocking the fossil i got for absolutely nothing from my place of employment, a gift for 10 years of goofing off.
  2. each link in the band spells out a part of the word NIXON...the company that makes it, not the president. the pic doesn't do it justice, but i can't rationalize the $200+ pricetag.
  3. As crappy of a stunt (IMO based more in publicity than actual political motivation) as I find it, it's not really tampering. The state allows Republicans to vote in a Democratic primary...while Jabba may have some influence, it is still ultimately each of those voters right to cast their vote for whatever reason they want. I n the grander scale, i'm thinking it didn't have as much bearing as i'm sure he'll make it out to have had. 'Operation Chaos'?! Whatever, Goldfinger.
  4. just so we're clear...i'm talking about the live action justice league flick w/ the cast of the OC or whatever it is. the more recent DC animated work is awesome.
  5. i hate to say it, but i kind of agree. while i'm totally stoked about the concept of an avengers movie (if it is done right vs. DC's current JLA debacle), the sheer set-up of other movies to get to that point makes me think we could see some sloppy stuff. there just doesn't need to be an ant-man flick...do captain america (just so i can see a real live red skull onscreen) and maybe thor (better get a good writing team). throw in any other auxillary avengers (ant/giant-man, vision, etc.) into the actual flick.
  6. joly cripes, charles...thanks for the heads up. this is awesome! p.s. check out his do!
  7. i was thinking the same thing...i also think an avengers flick is going to be tough to pull off and not have it be too overcrowded like the x-men flicks. there is also the price tag for trying to get the same actors from the other flicks pulled together in one movie, which i think is key to it's success. perm, i don't know...it definitely is the summer flick i'm least excited about, but the new preview made it look a little better.
  8. even the posters are freaking awesome... i'm really excited that they haven't released any photos of two-face and have really downplayed his role in the film, which (if you read certain interviews) is a lot beefier than the trailers let on. you finally get to see what looks to be the catalyst for his transformation in the latest trailer, but still no actual image...which is good, i'd rather see it in the flick.
  9. even though i could only hear out of one ear due to an ear infection, it was still enjoyable as all hell. RDJ was great and did an entertaining take on tony stark. it'd rank high in my list of comic book flicks. the new batman trailer is fucking killer...i think that'll be the summer blockbuster to top.
  10. BTW, it took 'free comic book day' for me to realize i've got a killer shop 5 minutes from my house...total hole in the wall, but he has a treasure trove of stuff. i bought a great original x-men print i'm going to have framed and bought an assault dalek figure they made for SD comicon...then all the free comics and stuff. they had a huge coffee table book of robert williams paintings/sketches and couple of jack kirby collections i have to own.
  11. i figured as much. hey, BTW, seriously thinking about trying to go to wizard world this summer...let me know if you are going.
  12. took care of the kid all day yesterday. i was going to go this afternoon, but my wife forgot we have a birthday party to attend. i will be in a theatre tomorrow afternoon, however, most likely enjoying the fuck outta' that flick. are we talking the hasslehoff nick fury?
  13. well, she's REALLY going to be pissed off about the license plate they are trying to pass in vermont then.
  14. i bet the one who chose to say it hates gays and blacks. or grew a third eye.
  15. i'd have to go back and listen...again...but i'm not going to. just so we're clear, 'dislike' isn't the word i'd use...there were just a few tracks that i thought were good and some i thought were better than good and some that were great. they are a great band and i've always got that, it's just now that a full album of theirs really clicked in totality for me.
  16. can't disagree w/ any of that...definitely dig the older stuff pre-phrenology the most, but i've liked the stuff after a little more than it sounds like you do.
