Happy Birthday from your two favorite people!

The Book Thief: Still reading it, but so far it's fascinating. The Skin I'm In: Great book. She'll love it. Hello! This feels like the good old days of VC.
-
I'm finished. I liked it. My favorite of the series. Everything is tied up nice and neat.
-
Written by Billy Corgan-real, or accurate-real? No and yes.
-
I was shocked that Darth Vader was Harry's father. Whoa.
-
At one time in my life, I loved the Pumpkins more than anything. This is not that time in my life. Bad triple tracked Corgan vocals on nearly every song. Worse than Machina.
-
I'm fired up! Two years between shows is two years too long. Bonus...this is the first Wilco show that I can walk to from my house.
-
Happy Birthday! I'm still embarrassed that I said, "Oh, man! You really DO exist!" when Heather and I met you after the '03 solo show. 20? Good LORD!
-
I've had it for a couple weeks, and I'm not too keen on it. I felt like it was Driving Rain II, only inferior to it. Too bad Nigel Goodrich wasn't available, or Paul wasn't interested in working with him again.
-
Not as bad...
-
Oh, this is too bad. Just when I think that he might have it back on track, he's taking the stage in a white cape. And from here the bassist looks pretty hot.
-
91 songs, according to this.
-
Amazingly, I don't think he's gone there yet.

Surprisingly graphic, eh? I ignored Rambo III for a long time, but after film school I really came to like the Eisenstein-styled action montages. Don't know if I'll see it, either. Might have a hard time finding someone to go with me.

Seriously not safe for work... http://www.aintitcool.com/multimedia/AICN-JOHN-RAMBO2.mov I've always been "meh" about Rambo, but I'm curious to see what a rejuvenated Stallone does with another dead 80's franchise of his after so thoroughly enjoying Rocky Balboa.

http://www.spinner.com/2007/05/18/new-musi...shing-pumpkins/ I honestly like it much more now that I've heard the full version in a relatively decent rip. Much, much better than I was expecting...but I was expecting absolute shit. Lyrics are the typical Corgan drivel, but the guitar is fun in that it's just rawk guitar and wanking. I really like the little end bit that actually sounds like early Pumpkins. Pandering with that bit? Perhaps. I have mixed feelings here about how VC treats the Pumpkins. I absolutely loved them growing up...until I grew out of them. I still have a soft spot for

Thanks. Hopefully that bonus disc will work with the vinyl purchase as well.

Can someone help summarize all of the different goodies that are coming out today? I know about the following: iTunes and "Let's Not Get Carried Away." vinyl w/cd pack-in cd w/dvd pack-in Isn't there another b-side out there? One True Vine? How do you get a copy of it? Anything I'm missing?
-
If you bought the vinyl, would that count as two copies, since it is packed with a cd?

Ginger Reyes (I think) aka Ginger Halo? Blond bass player. Jeff Schneider from the Lassie Foundation. Ginger had a song on the Freaky Friday soundtrack (?!?) Sounds like music by Kelly Clarkson to my ears. I may have seen a clip of Schneider somewhere. I don't know if it was ever confirmed which dude it was in the band photo, but he may be from an Asian family. I guess the idea is that if you squint while watching them it will "kind of" look like the Smashing Pumpkins. None of them played on the record.

That last scene was beautiful.

Official write up on HBO.com says... Meanwhile, Tony and Sonya have driven out to park overlooking a stunning desert canyon. Standing at the edge of the world Tony shouts out: "I get it!"

I have some news on Memory Almost Full... It is Driving Rain II, only not as good. For all of the denials to the contrary, it certainly sounds like leftovers from Driving Rain. Disappointing in a lot of ways after Chaos.
