I was thrilled to be back at a show last night for the first time since Denver 2007 (not coincidently the last shows before we had kids.) It was a phenomenal show, easily one of the best (if not the best) show I've seen them play. Such a great mix of old favorites and songs from the last two albums I hadn't heard live yet. Next up, taking the kids to a show!

The reason I posted this is because the wording is so nebulous. What will this do to organic farmers? It really seems to be designed to cut into the type of farmer who would produce organically for a farmers market. It has big business fingerprints all over it, and is written to control how food that is sold for profit is guarded against "foreign contaminants." Again, so nebulous. Is this mandating that food producers need to fertilize and herbicide their produce? Who will be the person determining that? What exactly is this legislation doing?

I organized this last time we did it. For your sanity, I would recommend that you cut the number of entries to 10. I also had people email me their list, which they could only do once. No drafts or anything like that. Pick ten and stick with it. The list was on my folks computer, cause that's where I was living 5-6 years ago when I did it, so I don't have the complete list, but I think that either YHF or Neutral Milk Hotel won. At any rate, they finished 1 and 2.

The Chance Jones Band could open for Wilco and people who didn't know of them would be pleased after hearing them play.
