  1. If you embrace any and all vegetables, you will never have a boring meal again. I'm not a vegetarian (I admit, I like beef, lamb, pork, etc. too much), but there are plenty of ways to create a diverse and exciting diet just with that. Also, fish and seafood are great ways to eat healthier, too. The most important thing I've found is that whatever you eat, it's best to eat in moderation. My wife has done very well on Weight Watchers which assigns points to everything you eat. They even have a feature online where you can put in your favorite recipes and see how many points they are worth.
  2. It reminds me of that movie with Richard Dreyfuss several years ago where he was some kind of professor and dressed people up to look like he had discovered a new tribe. Or something like that.
  3. Unbelievable. Just when you think that we've reached an absolute low on things like this (remember the ads for Aqua Teen Hunger Force in Boston), we actually plumb new depths.
  4. I think you missed the point a little. It's actually pretty funny.
  5. How is he being secretive? He opened up his personal medical records regarding his mental health in 2000 and now he's opening up his personal medical records regarding his various treatments since then including the major surgeries removing melanomas. He provided access to his doctors for questions, too. He's not hiding anything. He's just being prudent and careful with personal medical records. And the comparison to Rove in this instance does fit, because it's exactly this same kind of speculation about his mental health that spurred the release of medical records in 2000. Again, thou
  6. Because Obama supporters are trying really hard to make McCain's age an issue, and, apparently, the fact that as a POW he might be mentally unfit. All of this is eerily similar to the whispering in 2000 when he was running against Bush. It's almost amazing how some people will lambaste Karl Rove and call him a criminal and then turn around and adopt his same tactics.
  7. Actually, they haven't. But I'm with Jude, I don't know that it's as relevant. Although, Obama was/is a pretty big time smoker. Maybe you're confusing medical records with the financial records they released earlier this year.
  8. I've been debating whether to pick this up. Based on this description, I think I'll definitely need to now. Thanks!
  9. I remember reading that all of his records regarding mental health and possible effects from his POW imprisonment were released back in 1999 or 2000 before that presidential run.
  10. Your description definitely has me intrigued. Damn office computer with no speakers!
  11. For a brief second, I was asking myself why Dan Bejar was playing with Wilco.
  12. Yeah, but who doesn't have an ulterior motive these days? Especially involving politics during an election year. Criminal?
  13. I don't think I've ever seen it in its entirety in one sitting. But I think I've caught all the various pieces of it over the years.
  14. That's a good topic for a different discussion. And I would certainly question a lot of their reasoning over the course of the last 6 years. However, aside from Rove writing the article, isn't the bigger concern that of "where do we go from here"?
  15. From Obama's website: This seems fairly "precipitous" to me in this instance. Especially when used in the context of troop withdrawal. Therefore making the "specious wording" make sense in light of the fact that he'll remove troops (what Iran would want) before even talking to them or talking to them without preconditions.
  16. Good article in the Wall Street Journal today from Karl Rove: Obama's Troubling Instincts Especially the last four paragraphs:
  17. Band on the Run, Eleanor Rigby, Let Me Roll It, Yesterday, Lovely Rita, Get Back, Paperback Writer, For No One, Got to Get You Into My Life
  18. I completely agree. I think the writers for most shows were kind of scrambling to come up with episodes to cram everything in and end their respective seasons, and the shows suffered because of it. But The Office finale knocked it out of the park.
  19. I really loved SBS when it first came out. Although, this is true of each previous album, and I have a strong suspicion that this will be true of all of Wilco's future albums. That being said, I don't go back to it all that often, and it's one of two Wilco albums (the other being A.M.) that I skip around on a lot, depending on what I'm in the mood to listen to. Leave Me... is probably my least favorite Wilco song and What Light is another that I often skip without feeling any remorse. It's still Wilco and it's still a great album (case in point, I'll argue to the death its merits against
  20. I'm not sure that's something I would admit, regardless of any political leanings.
  21. Like I said, severely misguided. Unfortunately, these people and their whacked-out ideas get lumped in together with all conservatives or Republicans and meaningful discussion and debate suffers as a result.
  22. I think there are plenty of other veep candidates that could help mobilize the evangelical bloc, and provide more incentive for the conservative base. It doesn't end with Huckabee. In fact, I think he would be a rather poor choice.
  23. That certainly sucks. Living in Fort Worth, though, American gives me the most options and nonstop flights, making it harder to find the right flight on a different airline.
