  1. Into the Shadows of My Embrace is incredible.
  2. I never thought I would ever type this: I completely agree with Panther.
  3. One thing I found extremely refreshing was that it wasn't overly cynical (which I think differentiates it from Arrested Development). Highlighted at the end after the family is introduced to the gay couple's adopted daughter and what Ed O'Neill says to his son at that moment. I thought that whole scene had a great blend of comedy and sweetness that lent authenticity to it. So many of these family sitcoms revert back to the broadly-defined family dynamic where everyone is different and doesn't like each other. It will be nice to see if they can keep this tone throughout the series because
  4. Did anyone else watch this Wednesday night? I thought it was one of the funniest pilots I've seen in a long time with a ton of laugh-out-loud moments. I think ABC is re-airing it tonight if you missed it.
  5. I love it. Hard to say right now which one I might like better, since this one is still new to me.
  6. Their last album, Alopecia, was probably my favorite album of last year. I've only gotten halfway through this one, though...damn work interruptions.
  7. Relax fellas...Alan brought up Wilco in the Pearl Jam thread, so I was returning the favor. Sorry to get everyone in a freaking huff.
  8. Actually, the bugs part still applies.
  9. That last paragraph in the Pitchfork review is pretty spot on.
  10. You would probably enjoy Under the Banner of Heaven, too. Or else get really angry. It's a fascinating book and Krakauer uses the same method there where he interweaves the main, current story with a history of the Mormon church.
  11. I don't know that a game that bad would ever be the norm for him. But he needs to do a better job of protecting the ball. And there is no excuse, the OL did an excellent job last night and Romo pissed the game away with three terrible throws. All at key moments, too. He's still forcing the ball too much and seems to be afraid of checking down to anyone other than Witten.
  12. Romo was absolutely terrible tonight
