For some reason this hasn't been a good music year for me. I know there are a lot of amazing records, but none has made a personal impact, say something that I'd still be listening 5 or 10 years from now. Let's see, R.E.M. disappointed, Decemberists was (is) good but I'm finding hard to like anything other than Calamity Song, Wilco on the other hand made a stellar song, Sunday Morning. Radiohead had a 5 on a personal scale of 10. The Wilderness of Manitoba made a brilliant album, my music discovery of the year. Special mention goes to the re-issue of Lifes Rich Pageant.

Does anybody here play their music wirelessly? I'm just curious how this works, there were some products offered by Apple where the music, content, was centralised then beamed through wi-fi. At the time I thought of reliability of the network, in other works music playing could be interrupted by network malfunction.

American Songwriter's top 50 albums of 2011

This is the second list I see (the other being Paste's) where R.E.M. Collapse into Now is omitted. Not that it surprises me, the album wasn't as good as its predecessor Accelerate, but I think this is another sign that the band had ceased to be relevant in today's landscape. On the other hand, The Decemberists are on both lists, while Adele was so omnipresent in charts that by inertia is falling into every list, personally I'm not that excited about her music. Stuff like the Drive by Truckers and Jason Isbell is new to me, so it's too early to comment on those. -
It says here that "at least a quarter of the people who bought the most recent album by Wilco (...) will lay hands to Glossary’s Long Live All Of Us." Do you agree? I had never heard of glossary before.. http://www.jambands.com/reviews/cds/2011/11/29/glossary-long-live-all-of-us
