Even More goodies with Wowee Zowee reissue
brianjeremy replied to Dr. Steve Brule's topic in Someone Else's Song
Great! I'll call them tomorrow. Wowee Zowee was never my favorite. In fact, I would place it fourth on my list but it's still a great album. I'm not near as psyched for this one as I was for the S+E one. I am psyched about finally having Painted Soldiers on an album though. I wasn't excited about the CRCR one either, but I got really surprised by the extras on it. I hope this one does the same. -
Me too!!1!!! (it's freaking awesome by the way) I just got that, Normal Happiness and the Moon live disc from Luna. Pollard madness tonight!

Is there a listing of participating stores on their site? I hope it their list of Matador Friendly Stores becuse there are two stores here in town. -
Great, great album. NP: Listening to this again and again and again....

The Decemberists' new one has yet to grow on me. Sure, there are some awesome tracks on it but the whole album is kinda boring. I loved their last two albums but never have been a fan of their first album. Can't see why it gets more praise than Her Majesty.

John didn't want it to come out. Something to do with it looking bad if the rest of the band put an album out with out Tweedy or something along those lines.

It's a pretty good album. Not as good as his last one, Bright Ideas, but still good. Have you ever listened to them before?

Lou says in his update that the orders will be out by Nov. 7th I believe and yes, I mean Jason. His nickname is Jake. (i.e. jakerock/his website)

Barlow just posted that they (Lou, Jake and Eric) are going to tour in the Spring, which is even better news because that means that they're gonna play old school songs.

So true...Or in this case: kids. The reason was simple - Barlow needed money, so he agreed. Barlow is even recording a new Sebadoh album with the original members.

http://www.24trailer.com/ Oh yeah....3pm on tuesday the 24th. Discuss. I figure if Lost gets it's own thread, 24 should have it's own, right?

This is the first Beck album I have bought on the day of release since Odelay. I like it so far. I've just gotten back into Beck after about 6 years of just being out of it.

I got the print at my local indie-record store. The print is way nice. It's ~20" x 10" on really great paper.

These guys play in town quite often but I have never seen them. I should check them out in December when they come back.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this one yet:

I think the numbers thing is a bull-shit arguement. Robert Pollard and GBV always press limitied quantities of most their vinyl releases. Some as low as a few hundred and as much as 1000 on the limtied stuff. You can't tell me that a small time indie band can press and sell out of 500 limited edition records when Wilco couldn't? I know gbv/pollard have a pretty rabid fan base, but Wilco's is just as rabid, if not more so. Why else would people like Loose Fur (c'mon, you know that they're not that great)? I think it boils down to them just not wanting to re-press the album myself. It l
