  3. Slightly disappointed to find out that there's an editor involved with the writings. Maybe to be expected but would have liked to think they were 'straight from the horse's mouth'. JT doesn't use an editor for his songwriting so why not let us see the real raw work there too?
  4. Ta. There's that Goth/Joy Division version of HMD. Is this version like that? Also. How is Pat Watch? He went through that spell of not being very engaged. The novelty of performing again means there is no sign of that?
  5. Генеральная линия партии :- Four legs good, two legs bad.
  6. (i) Maybe but my big ass could not be there. (ii) I believe there was indeed a cake, but I missed that show in fact. I don't recall the reason, but it must have been monumental of course. I did catch them in Europe on the same tour as penance - appropriately enough at Santiago de Compostella. I did not walk there, but did wear a cilice and regularly beat myself over the head with a stout stick. So things evened out I think.
  7. Whoa, had me worried for a minute as still 1 hour until my elevenses! Will check back for afternoon tea then.
  8. An exceptionally well balanced and reasoned report. Also very nicely timed to coincide with my elevenses. Pleased for you that there was a special treat in the encore for some variety. Ta.
  9. I loved Charlie dearly for his curmudgeonly attitude to the 'upstart' rock'n'roll compared to his beloved jazz, and his drum sound on the Some Girls album is one of my favourites. Found this on Wikipedia that's so funny if true. One anecdote relates that in the mid-1980s, an intoxicated Jagger phoned Watts's hotel room in the middle of the night, asking, "Where's my drummer?" Watts reportedly got up, shaved, dressed in a suit, put on a tie and freshly shined shoes, descended the stairs, and punched Jagger in the face, saying: "Don't ever call me your drummer again. You're my f
  10. Just come across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFRbTr70tdM Which apart from the music, Don has some great Banter - several minutes around 8 min, then another chunk around 17 min mark. Maybe some more I haven't got to yet.
  11. Hope that the fact you're posting means you're feeling better now Donna. Take care. P.S. Still on tenderhooks for that Wilco - The Snoozy Years story.
  12. Ta. Wonder if they'll be an Everly Brothers cover tonight? Maybe JT could harmonise with John?
  13. No one else started one by now - wow. Few things more beautiful in this world than an Everly Brothers harmony. Not enough harmonies around these days. And thanks for being part of the Beatles inspiration Don.
  14. Ta. Thanks for soldiering on through all these adverse conditions (you and the band).
