  1. It's not that I don't like this or the recent TWEEDY albums as they are playing, but after a listen through I couldn't remember a single tune from it. There are plenty of albums I haven't liked initially that I have grown to love (Being There being a case in point from the Wilcos when it was my first proper Wilco after loving Mermaid Avenue - the first I had heard at all from them), but it's not a good sign. The songs don't flow in my head - always some lyric or change in rhythm that jars - I remember the same was true of Wilco The Album (though there were some tracks I liked immediately there
  2. Nice to see another Brit here from time to time. Hope you didn't get caught up in the Paris debacle. Shame Wilco aren't playing anything other than 1 festival in the UK this summer. It seems to be a more or less full on folk/Americana festival so the country direction would suit I suppose. (I won't be there). Maybe they'll get onto Jools Holland as it may still be running the current series at that time I hope.
  3. Still a bit surprised that more songs from Sukierae don't seem to get played by TWEEDY. It's like that release has sunk without trace. Edit - there was World Away there wasn't there.
  4. Ta. It's one thing to do a review when hanging around at an airport or something. Quite another when you're at a festival with loads of stuff to see and do. Top notch work sir!
  5. I echo your sentiments - though of course you state them so much better than I would. I too had previously expressed a desire for something more upbeat a few times, going back to over a year ago. Hoping that corresponds to the next one they release.
  6. Ta. "Wilco had started work on new a record before the pandemic, it was art pop. We had been working toward some new ideas that would be exciting to us." I hope that one surfaces eventually. I'd like some upbeat Wilco after so long they've been on other travels. Haven't heard a sniff of the new one yet and it was a new wave country (Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakam, Lone Justice) that lead me to Wilco via Mermaid Avenue in the first place back in the day, so it could be great also.
  7. Don't have the rarities box set but with you on the rest. I don't do vinyl and wouldn't anyway feel the need to splash out. Might be tempted by just the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Deluxe 2xCD if I had some idea how different the alternative takes are and so I have official versions of the demos I have always liked so much - though I have just noticed that it doesn't have Let Me Come Home, which probably means I won't bother after all.
  8. “Oh, you mean I have to keep writing different recaps for what is essentially the same show night after night” - Err, yes I checked your contract. I too thought they might go with the album and Engineer demos. i would have been happy with that in the strange imaginary world of ever getting to see Wilco again. Though having said that have just done the first bit of foreign travel for 2 years - but still can’t easily get to the USA (no ESTA) since I visited Iran 3 years ago. Have to say it was worth it though :-) Ta.
  9. Ta. Been out of the loop in Slovenia for a few days. Interesting to read about all the hubbub. Thanks for all the detail!
  10. FYI I don't do instagram (but people can join my OnlyFans site at £10 a pop, if you pardon the expression).
  11. Shouldn't this always be last on the setlist - just so that if JT mistimes and fails to meet the curfew, you can report that it was cut short. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtxbM7-jAD0 P.S. Ta.
  12. Did Sammy have his nipple tassles?
  13. So Largo is a pole dancing club? Interesting choice of venue.
