To quote the late great Bill McLaren "They'll be dancing in the streets of Pontypool tonight!"

Ha! Funny. I actually find Noel quite entertaining for his honesty when interviewed etc. and sort of like him (not Liam though), but as far as the music is concerned I found Oasis really painfully derivative (the obvious influence) and apart from a handful of tracks can't listen to their banal cut and paste lyrics. Plus, their tickets are even more expensive and I never go to stadium shows - there is a certain thrill to being in a big crowd but I have got that from Wales sports events over the years. Music in big arenas is a non-starter for me - you're just watching the screens not the an

I know - which makes it even worse/more sedate.

Yes indeed. I decided I could but did not want to go that high. I don't feel the spark of excitement about the thought of going to see them live that I used to (though still listen a lot etc. and liked Cousin very much) - shows just seem too sedate for me now and if I see someone live I don't just want it to be like listening to the records but standing up the whole time. The only acts off the top of my head that I want to see are CMAT / Yard Act / Mary Wallopers (or Macca in a small venue of course but that's not going to happen and at his age he probably wouldn't match my expectations anyway

The more important question is: is @bböp touring in 2025?

But Woody did write Someday Some Morning Sauerkraut.

That’s a better cover than practically any previous Wilco release - so much for all those so called creative teams involved before. Wonder if they’ll have copyright issues from the manufacturers of the other stickers that have been used though . . .

Very interesting. Thanks for the reply. Good luck for the future!

I was browsing a couple of rock photo books in a bookshop yesterday from "renowned" photographers. It seemed to me that 99% of them were very ordinary shots and where they showed contact sheets you could see that they just banged out a load of snaps and just happened to get a few that were OK. It just so happened that the artist in the picture was extraordinary and that was what made them interesting e.g. Beatles (which I admit I spent most of my time looking at). I didn't see anything more special in terms of photography than what I see here. A lot were not even good technically -

Dark Matter by Michelle Paver. Not reading but listening. Spooky stuff and the readers voice is great to doze off to. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000c4pv/episodes/player

The Outlaws Series 3. (on BBC not Prime as the video here - I don't pay to view anything). Christopher Walken is not a main character this time but I believe he does feature a bit later on. Stephen Merchant's witty one liners still sparkle. I saw him live interviewing Jarvis Cocker for an hour for a radio show once and that was hilarious.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't think we've ever kissed though. Having Annihilation, Hot Sun and Meant To Be has given recent setlists a more spritely feel IMHO and I would be much more interested in seeing the again now.

Yeah - but I like how VC remains a 'safe space' for differing considered opinions rather than the sycophantic FB place.

There was no The Unwelcome Guest. Bah humbug. Good job I never made the trip then, though Venus and Quiet Amplifier could have been worth the admission. I invite, nay implore, Bbop to fill us in with some details at a time of his choosing. Not a bad stab at the advertised deepcuts offering. Chapeau Wilco. FWIW - literally written in real time as I get my first listen. Hot Sun Cool Shroud - a very welcome upbeat song. A bit more subdued than I would like, when I compare with Magazine Called Sunset for example. Turn up the electric and fade the acoustic with the warn out strings IMHO. Lyrics without a phrase that catches my attention but the groove is growing on me. Livid - Would be fun to see live. If that approach/sound were applied more liberally elsewhere it would make Wilco perk up a bit from their strummy habits. Could do with some 'Ace of Spades' style vocals - I am av

Ta. I suggest you get in the habit of prodding them in the buttocks as a precautionary measure. You might just save someone's life. On tenderhooks for the deep cuts, cough, Unwelcome Guest, cough. (John can sing - JT do the harmonies).
