Ta. Thanks for chipping in. I'd be hard putt to read a more eagle eyed zinger of a report on a slice of Wilco action, and you've gone a fair way to making my day after a rough start. I'm green with envy. P.S. Can't quite fit in mashie niblick. -
Shogun. A visual and cultural treat - stunning. A nice twist towards the end so it was not all about a 'big final battle scene' as lots of these blockbuster productions always are.

The very fabulous CMAT - one of the very few people I would go to see live these days. In the US in September, Chicago on the 13th. Do go, and if you don’t enjoy it I will personally refund you your ticket, or tell you that you’re a stupid twat. One of the two. The drummer is also a dead ringer for a female Spencer T.

Some time ago I dismissed Watch Me Disappear from the Augie March canon for some unknown reason and never bothered to get it. I picked up a CD for a couple of qiud last week after revisiting on Spotify, and it is up there with their best. Few can find a melody like Mr Richards 1 min 10s in here is just wonderful . . . Their latest 2 albums however have indeed left me cold. But Bootikins from before that is fab, though a tad overproduced in parts. Here are my favourite two:- As an aging man this really strikes a chord :-

Do it! Just before my free month ends I'm watching Get Back for a second time. I think my favourite moment is during Commonwealth when John starts and Macca nearly cracks up - about 50 secs in below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0kdX-1Mnqg .

Something a bit closer to home but interesting evidence according to Mr Von Daniken: Hummingbird, spiders, Jeff. To lend support to your theme, I could have done it with my own pics, but they are analogue from a time long, long ago. Now, where did I put my pith helmet?

Not a New Order fan then? Ta anyway. -
This just in from His Holiness: "Et de Wilco, mox bullam papalem promulgabo, declarans me opera eorum priora multo praeferre."

Ha! Good stuff. Let's not forget that Pope Leo is an anagram of eel poop, which may or may not be significant, but once you've read it I bet you'll never forget. I also came across this yesterday as a forgotten photo I have - at the Mantiloc Shrine on Mantiloc Island, El Nido, Philippines. Locals attest to it's ancient origins, but then I am getting on a bit. Still, the Holy Spirit moves in mysterious ways. P.S. I didn't actually dismantle anything that was standing there before to do that. The whole place was already a bit of a mess.

Just for the record, I definitely hope you don’t include zydeco in that. Good stuff. Back to South America - it must be tricky since there will be so much effort and it could end up being Wilco and airports without too much actual sights/experiences. I’d get to Brazil early and do Rio and Iguazu at least. I also drove to Buzios but beach resorts per se are not my thing. It was OK and quite pretty, but maybe even more developed now. At Iguazu also try to get on the Argentinian side. You can also go to Paraguay for about 20 minutes without visa etc. if you tour the huge hydro dam. I have also be -

Ta. So Houston did not have a problem for once. Curious as to whether you are planning to do the South American tour. That would be a logistical epic. Good luck if yes. Also, am I allowed to say how much I loath Walken? Maybe tied with Kingpin. Good to vent that spleen. Now all back to peace and love. -
Binging the 4 series of Slow Horses on a one week free Apple TV trial. I don’t know of anything else good on Apple TV. I have missed Spooks being off the screen and this takes it up a level. Also always enjoy seeing the City and places I know (and the continuity errors when chasing around streets etc. where the locations are not actually next to each other).

Ha Ha - literally edited as you sent the message. Old Paul really went through an Another Country/Brideshead period (with a teddy bear in the latter of course so maybe it was a subconscious slip) which was strange coming from someone who wrote Eton Rifles. That corresponded with my time in/just after Uni. Everchanging Moods still a classic.

It's funny how many US placenames Brits know from songs without having any clue what they are actually like. Not sure if the reverse is true much, but I'll throw these in in for you to ponder on Believe it or not Chas and Dave opened for Led Zeppelin at Knebworth. I'll leave it for the interested to look up their seminal works Rabbit and Snooker Loopy.
