  1. PHIL: "That was our name originally, Leonardo. But many years ago when my grandpa came over from Sicily, they changed it at Ellis Island to Leotardo." BOY: "What did they do that for?" PHIL: "Because they're stupid, that's why!!!! And jealous. They disrespected a proud, Italian heritage and named us after a ballet costume!" DAUGHTER: "Dad, that was neat at the end. The creepy figurine and the crucifix." LITTLE CARMINE: "I'm glad you caught that Alexandra, very observant. The sacred and the propane." priceless
  2. Of course it's tough, but you also only hear about the ones that can't stay clean. If you do what you're supposed and follow the directions of recovery, any addict can do it.
  3. There's always the old-fashioned pen and paper.
  4. Hey John, Just had to tell you that I check your site at least once a week when I just need a smile. Not that you don't hear it enough, but I just had to tell you that your work is just amazing!
  5. Sorry if it's been posted already, didn't see it. This makes me happy. Just had a flashback to 1991. http://subterraneanblog.com/2007/04/13/vid...e-all-the-time/
  6. I got shut out too, but I'm really not too upset about it. Summertime's all about the outdoor venues. Pines last year had a great vibe with a whole bunch of respectful people around you. Hammerstein's gonna be a madhouse! What am I talking about? I'm sure I'll somehow end up going. I know if I don't, that'll be the one show where they play Pot Kettle Black & Why Would You Wanna Live.
  7. Thanks for the heads up. Got 2 for now, then I can decide tomorrow if I want any more.
  8. Had a friend who was dying to see this, and this was the quickest way to get in to her. Here it is, for those who may be interested. Just scroll down the page a little bit. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...riendid=3007479 Especially love right before the 2nd verse when the sun is shining in on Jeff. Awesome
  9. Wow, Imus just got fired by CBS radio (while the radio-thon was in progress)!
  10. I didn't realize until right now that today is WFAN's radio-thon for SIDS, which has raised millions of dollars over the last 18 years. Did MSNBC really need to pull the plug at 6:30 PM the night before the radio-thon? Besides, don't they know studies have shown that it's best to fire your employees on Friday?
  11. That's it, you're suspended from posting for 2 weeks.
  12. i'll be right in front of you, "M" 103-106
  13. What a joke!!! I had 3 windows open, but could only place one order. Oh well, at least I got the one I needed the most, Count Basie!!!!
  14. So there's no special password for this pre-sale, right?
  15. Just the park, but it's definitely worth spending the whole day there (and you and still hear soundcheck from beyond the pines).
  16. I really don't care what's being played once I'm standing right in front of them.......but..... Why Would You Wanna Live, Hotel Arizona, and Pot, Kettle, Black sure would be nice with this lineup.
  17. Quite possibly the best vibe of any Wilco show I've ever been to. Just a big park with (surprise!!!) lots of pine trees ("and the smell of popcorn and pot lofting through the air"). Good times, good times. Don't know much about the area, but I was lucky enough last year to share a room at the lovely Northampton Inn with another super-fan that I picked up along the way (thanks Lisa)!!!
  18. No argument that he was the best player in the game pre-steroids and was already a hall-of-famer. But doesn't change much??????? He's about to break the most storied records in all of sports!!!!! Nobody would really care if this wasn't going to happen. And you could justifiably argue that he wouldn't have come close to the record without the "enhancements".
  19. Great young talent aside, that lovely bullpen in Florida will keep the Marlins under .500 this year.
