  1. Unfortunately, the trade doesn't take effect until Monday.
  2. Haven't been around much, but glad to see alot of the familiar names. Yankees/Marlins made me think of bobbob. Just traded Zach Duke for Cody Ross in my roto keeper crazy rule league. Is Ross gonna keep it up? Cano still will win a batting title
  3. I'm on my way, so this better be a go (missing a surprise party in nj for my grandfather...i'm not #1 on mom's list at the moment). But it's Wilco...and Neil
  4. Best wishes to everyone affected (we just got a ton of flooding in Ct)...... So I take it that the show is still on?
  5. Anyone know if the show's been canceled yet. I know it's a State of Emergency. I can't get any other info anywhere. Call the venue and all I get is static. Thanks in advance.
  6. Awesome performance, just too many close-ups of Zooey. When Matt's on TV, I need to see him for more than a few seconds at a time! Besides that, I thought Zooey nailed it
  7. I've watched ALOT of college hoops this year, and the thing that's really hurting too many of these games are the refs that can't put their whistle away for more 2 possessions. I was at the Sacred Heart/Mt St Mary's game last night, and there were 52 fouls called in the game (and only 33 field goals made). I realize that part of reason why the shooting was so bad was that these were not very good offensive teams (Mt St Mary's should definitely be in the play-in game on Tuesday), the refs more than anything else made it such a brutal game. The UConn/WVU game was somewhat entertaining, but
  8. Absolutely love the sport, but my childhood love (St John's) and my alma mater (Rutgers) have been going nowhere fast for years. Working with tons of really insane UConn fans makes it tougher, but at least I get to watch college hoops all night at work. Go Louisville!!!! (No offense, need them in a conference tourney pool. I swear we have a pool for absolutely everything.)
  9. I've always respected your opinions and dug your taste, and this one seals the deal. I'd love to copy you, unfortunately the one I love is currently unattainable.
  10. Just passed these on to a fellow board member, so I might as well post them here. The 2 Real Emotional Trash B-Sides from the pre-sale. Some of my favorite Pavement and Stephen songs ever were B-Sides (All My Friends, Harness Your Hopes, and Dynamic Calories come to mind immediately). I'm absolutely loving Walk Into The Mirror., Mr Jolly not as much (but I still loves me some pretty female backing vocals). Walk Into The Mirror http://www.sendspace.com/file/ovcf8a Mr Jolly http://www.sendspace.com/file/27157b Craig, let me know if the link expires before you get to it.
  11. I listen to alot more than them, just kinda saying that if those 4 were all there were, I'd be cool. As my tired brain recalls, people were discussing earlier in the thread how much time & energy they'll put into an artist that's new to their ears. With me, I don't try real hard. If there's not an instant connection (most recently Band of Horses have become a fav for me), I just move on to something new.
  12. While I always enjoy hearing great new music, I don't really go out of my way to look for it. I can always be perfectly content with a steady rotation of all things tweedy, westeberg, young, & malkmus.
  13. Does anyone happen to have the show from the buyearlygetnow deal that they could share somehow? I did the deal, but am currently not able to convert flacs (damn computer)! I do have the 2 b-sides if anyone's interested.
  14. I can't remember listening to 2 songs as much as I've listened to 3 & 4 over the last few weeks. Just great, great tunes.!!! Seeing them in Boston in a few weeks, and this is the most excited I've been to see a Malkmus show in years. Also really stoked to see Janet Weiss for the first time as a Jick!!!
  15. For those who didn't catch these promos (I know I never saw them) Funnier than any of the skits, that's fo sho
  16. Everyone left in my newsroom when "Walken" came on tonight thinks I'm a lunatic now for loving this band when they saw Jeff in the suit (except the dude I took to New Haven last weekend). F- them, what the hell do they know? Awesome, awesome performance!!!! Also liked that all the band members got some quality camera time. Thought "Hate It Here" was just ok, but I always think it's just ok.
  17. Nice pics and thanks for the link to the review. Nice to see a reviewer actually know what he's talking about (or at least do the proper research). I just feel so lucky and almost priviledged to be able to see this band do what they're doing right now. Been a fan forever, but only started getting rabid with the shows since 04. I couldn't of dreamed of a better 2 shows than I got to see this weekend (the crowd issues in PA notwithstanding). Love the longer sets w/ just the one encore, love even more getting the much needed Spiders/Late Greats break, and in 2 nights I saw my first full ban
  18. It'll probably be Walken and Hate It Here, which is alot of fun but also really corny. My two would be Impossible Germany and Side With The Seeds, but I know that'll never happen.
  19. Umm, I wouldn't call the County Seat of Ocean County and the huge town right off the Parkway that every thousands upon thousands of NYers have to drive through to get the Shore (Seaside Heights) in the middle of nowhere. Crappy town, yes...middle of nowhere, not so much. Glad someone mentioned Dramarama in the Jersey group. They were a great 80s Jersey band (even though people might think of Cali cuz they moved out there to make it big...ha), and I still listen to alot of their old shit. Actually my friend told me last night at the Tower show that they played on Ellen's show recently (app
  20. Seeing Mountainbed 2 nights in a row makes me think of the 6/8/04 show when someone shouts out for it & Jeff goes, "I just got out of the hospital, man, I'm not playing Mountainbed....lot of words" (or something close) Thanks for keeping the Residency going through your little Northeast Weekend. 11 tunes tonight that weren't played last night!!!! Can't ask for more than that. A whole weekend without Spiders and Late Greats was a welcome change!!! Being There finale was stellar & the overall sound up close was ridiculous. 1st time I'd seen Pick Up The Change and Hotel Arizona li
  21. Just had some last-minute cancellations. Got 2 really good ones (ORCH CTR ROW F) for face & fees ($70 works). I'm heading out at 6 to pick up my buddy so I'd need a response by then. Can meet right at the show by 8. PM or respond here.
  22. No Spiders and Late Greats made me very happy!!! Would much rather hear the much rarer gems like She's A Jar and Nothingsevergonna...... . Shocked that they didn't play IATTBYH, but it that's what it took for me to hear a full band Mountainbed, I'm all for it!!! Crowd was very lame up the balcony, but that's what you're gonna get in a theatre like that, the extremely mellow start to the show didn't help the crowd vibe (even though it was perfect for me). Balcony was an interesting change, but it'll be sweet to be back up front tonight in New Haven!!!! If you're reading this yankeeho

  24. Glad to see that impartial watchers thought it was as great a game as a giddy G-Man fan like myself thought. I'm now watching the game for the 3rd time and am still in shock! By the way, bobbob, most of the Giants fans I know have usually been supportive of Eli. Just because the local media harps on all the negative stuff doesn't mean that the masses believe it all. But anyone that says they weren't worried a bit after the Vikings fiasco is either crazy or lying. Going to work tomorrow night at Patriots headquarters (aka the company that pays Emmitt Smith a small ransom to spout suc
