I'm working on an article/blog/whatever about the 2011 resurgence of three of my favorites: tweedy, malkmus & thurston moore.....all three records blew me away, especially after being underwhelmed by all of them for quite a few years....guess i have to give beck some credit too for the latter two's records

Pat really shined on a few of the new tracks at Solid Sounds, including this one. I'm loving his ever-increasing role, both live and in the studio.

I feel ya Mike. I'm just happy this board has some positive juice over the anticipation of this release. I have to admit, my viachicago lurking/posting has definitely declined over the years, but I've been on daily ever since my awesome Solid Sound weekend. I feel like I really know so many of you from the 2004-2007 period, though I've only met a few in person. Having the board back in my life makes me almost as happy as having these tunes..... ......Almost!

While it's waaaay too early for me to rank TWL, I can easily say that the best opener/closer combo ranks right up there with IATTBYH/Reservations. -

There's so many exquisite sounds throughout that I've yet to even focus on the lyrics......so great. Also, since I left the link up past the 24 hours it's still playing just this song Sweet! -

works for me....i think even the snobby critics (pitchforks, etc...) are gonna fawn over this, especially with beck's hands all over it...easily think it's his best jicks one -

from SM in May: “Hey its May 2011– and we have some updates. Yeah, the new album is called “Mirror Traffic”. There was a lot of deliberation on the album title front but in the end we went the cryptic route–for some reason “Madonna in Love” didnt swing it with the test market. FOr a long stretch when it was gonna be called “L.A. Guns”, but with lawsuits flying left and right these days, I was talked off the ledge by cooler minds. This is bad form to talked about what might have been, Negative Hypnosis, but in the age of tell-all I thought I’d join in. from Mike in July: We’re having lots -

my initial thoughts...beck is a genius....not surprisingly, i think the production might be better than any album malkmus has ever done all the wild, ramblingness of real emotional trash (which i liked too) has been condensed into short and sweet classic tunes....a completely different record RET: 10 tracks - 55 minutes MT: 15 tracks - 51 minutes -
