  1. Interesting, cause my favorite is War Elephant. Love em all though. McCauley's just rock n roll to the core. My favorite show of the year was Dawes/Deer Tick/Middle Brother in NYC....Johnny Mac ate shrooms halfway thru the show. Still kept it together (sort of) for the Middle Brother set.
  2. yeah, i'm getting really excited....ianyone think new england may have rejuvenated them a bit? not knocking the loft/chicago/etc....but change can be good
  3. great thread, wish there were more like this.... .....my favorite "mellow" show (i mention it often) was 6/8/04 irving plaza, nyc....not sure where my source was from, but the sound is exquisite a great acoustic double dip were 3/4/05, 3/5/05 tweedy shows at the vic....the banter, the variety, the encores w/ band....kawasaki benefit soooo, who's the brave soul that's gonna revive wilcobase???? (if i ever quit my job & take off to the mountains, i'll give it a shot)
  4. very nice....yeah, missed laminated cat there, i did say my attention span was limited.....gimme a full band chinese apple & blasting fonda & i'm set
  5. Saw them a couple weeks ago headlining a Brooklyn festival and it was pretty special. I feel like I've seen just about everyone I've ever wanted to, but somehow always missed them. Pollard just rules, plain and simple. Your Solid Sound pics were incredible btw.
  6. GBV just started!!!! Echos Myron Exit Flagger .........and the stream has been solid.
  7. McCartney at Yankee Stadium tonight & tomm. Wish I coulda made it (damn weddings).
  8. http://pitchfork.com/ They're streaming all weekend. Just grabbed my headphones at work to catch GBV in a little bit
  9. It's laughable that there's plenty of Wilco fans (myself included) that don't love the record, especially live? Ok, that makes sense.
  10. I actually work in the same building where Berman's office is. He really is an asshole, besides being a blowhard, one trick pony.
  11. Live they are still incredible, but yeah, i've already buried the new album....title track & wonderful are great, the rest, meh
  12. One of my highlights was watching kidsmoke (it was you, right) smiling at the feet of a rockin' Pat for the duration of Autumn Defense's awesome set.
  13. I'm right behind ya. Haven't been to the Wang (pics look sweet thou) but in a theater like that our seats should be perfect.
  14. I don't have the energy to do this but this one looks pretty, pretty good to me. Just gimme one more encore. It's Just That Simple Not For The Season Summerteeth One by One The Lonely 1
  15. Feel free to contact me if you decide to come. I have lots of friends in the area who interested so I may be able to grab an late extra.
  16. For all Central Park hopefuls, I really don't see there being a huge problem getting tix going forward. I never get tix in advance in manhattan. Last year walking around the park I grabbed face value or below tix for pavement, black keys & flaming lips. I didn't even bother with the pre-sale. But Wang in Boston, however, nabbed orchestra
  17. just waaaay too long......did enjoy the cano win though........muted (i have a special chris berman mute button)
  18. Hixter, that's the best link I've seen on VC since like forever. Deserves it's own thread.
  19. Counting the days til Middle Brother followed by M Ward backed by Dawes at Newport......21!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Love love love those recordings. Early AGIB, lotta Mermaid and Being There, awesome.
  21. A lady friend asked me if I wanted to go to yesterday's DJ3K game (albeit 3 weeks ago). Had a work conflict at the time so I declined. Got a text from her yesterday saying "wish you were here". Took me a few minutes to realize where here was I totally could've gotten outta work. Oh well. At least I get paid to watch baseball.
  22. 1. Got turned on to Still Feel Gone in college, and got AM right away. 2. Though I liked the band in the mid to late 90s, just never went to shows then (other than Pavement). YHF turned on a light for me, then AGIB connected w/ me like no other album I can remember (primarily due to my own battles w/ substances and anxiety at the time). Oh yeah, first show 6/8/04 at my favorite venue Irving Plaza in NYC. 6th show with the current lineup. Favorite quote: "I just got outta the hospital, man, i'm not playing mountainbed.....lotta words". Handshake Drugs opener, The Lonely O
  23. I think just about every older track "works" better than most of W(TA).
