Summer breeze, makes me feel fine.....
-
Nope, not ringing a bell. Did he play in Seals and Kroft too?
-
Today is another day that I have no idea who Steve Kroft is. Its also another day that was too cold for the entire family to go to work and school.

From what I read, Hopkins had no recollection of the period he spent touring with Garcia. Yikes! Bobby Keys had some good Hopkins stories in his autobiography too.
-
Oh yeah, I finished the Bobby Keys autobiography over the weekend. That guy lived a charmed life.

The JGB 11-17/18-75 with Nicky Hopkins is pretty darn good too.

Here come da Judge!

The first time I saw Crash Worship, I had absolutely no idea what I was in for. I heard they were intense but it was so beyond anything I had experienced (before or since). Words wont do it justice but I'll try. They played in a loft just north of Chinatown in Chicago, They were a 5-8 member percussion band, no singer at this show, with troupe(?) members in the audience. There was fire, leather bags of wine passed around, nakedness, wild dancing, screaming, greasepaint (at some point my shirt was torn off and someone painted a big black cross on my chest) and pounding pounding rhythms. I saw that when it came out. Wasn't the stepfather a real creepy guy?

I haven't seen any trailers.....just being hopeful....

I was a huge fan of the Road Warrior when it came out and looked forward to Thunderdome's release. I just couldn't take how Miller "Hollywooded" the film up.....the score is/was over the top and dreadful....Tina Turner, wtf? Gibsons hair? The kids plot line? I was hugely disappointed with it. Looking forward to the reboot though, its coming out in May.

Listening to Mad Dogs n Englishmen last night, looking at the album and I noticed Bobby Keys is credited as "The ruby lipped essence of Lubbock Texas".
-
I shoulda listened when my half conscious mind told me at the crack of dawn to stay in bed today.
-
Well?
-
Bummer! I'll spin Mad Dogs and Englishmen tonite in his honor...
-
Why in the world would anybody host a Festivus party tonite?
-
Turned off "Mad Max-Thunderdome" last nite about a third of the way through.....what a piece of crapola that flick is, yikes.
-
Finished "The Martian" by A Weir over the weekend so I picked up "Five and Twentyfives" by M Pitre this morning.
-
Sony should "allow" hackers to steal that flick. After all, everybody in the world knows Sony's system security is made of swiss cheese. That would be hilarious.

Lots of Sam Cooke, gospel era. Great stuff if you don't mind the subject matter.
