  1. That's a good idea, maybe I can Photoshop something when I get time.
  2. Donna, It was great to meet you. Please tell your daughter thanks for the bracelet. I'm gonna leave it on till it rots. She feeling better yet?
  3. YAY!! Thank you for making me miss the first part of set two! I'm kidding. I knew Jeff was getting ready to play, but I was having a nice time talking to you up in the kitchen. We'll have to get together again, maybe at the series of Ft Wayne shows this summer! And a hearty Thanks to Jeff and Sue for all they did. I woulda run outta juice and kindness much earlier in the evening if I was Jeff (not that he ever ran out of it). Behold the power of Diet Coke!
  4. Seconded. I listened to this thing a half dozen times yesterday, and while it doesn't have as obvious a personality as earlier efforts, I just thought "What a shame that some people are writing this off so quickly", because they really are missing out on a lot. I also thought "I'm around Jeff's age and have two sons and struggle to grow up, remain sane and be creative all at the same time, so I can see how this album would be a great bif WTF?! to a lot of younger people". But even parts of YHF were growers for me. They start out black and white, and over time, they slowly fill with color and l
  5. Seconded! Leo, I must say you deal very well with the star-making machine! Let's have lunch in Chicago again sometime soon!
  6. My son has a friend named Ben who, when he sleeps over and I tell them to shut up and go to sleep at 3 in the morning, sez "Me and my dad always stay up till 6 in the morning playing video games". I still don't buy it. Hi, though.
  7. I missed it. I was busy. Sorry I used to bust your balls for spelling. I was succumbing to peer pressure. I miss your posts around here. Hope it was a good one!

  10. Erin, I loved when you played that. The plucking and everything, it was perfect! Really added a lot to the song. Thank you for your graciousness, and thank your family again for us. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. And MChris and Edie, you all behave tonight! I can't believe you're going out again tonight! :hatsofftoya
  11. Thanks, Ken. It was great to talk to you, as well. Let's do this all over again next year, if not before!
  12. Jenny and I enjoyed meeting and hanging with all of you good people Friday and Saturday as much as we enjoyed that incredible wonderful show, and that is saying a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just picked up the kids, getting ready to have some split pea soup, and then maybe crash. We've had approximately 9 hours of sleep over the past 3 nights, and I'm getting too old to run on fumes like that. More later after my head clears. In the meantime, here's a closeup of the poster:
  13. CALM BEFORE THE MORN The wind has died, Our misery has become Someone else's dread, Someone else's locomotive. The gutter dangles like an earring From the confused house While planes hustle and roar To make up for lost time. Time is money, Money will never fill up This hole we're in, But time, Time will smooth the edges, Time will fill in the gaps With invasive grasses And Japanese Honeysuckle, And maybe from that, We can start over, Start a garden, Call it even.
  14. SHEER MADNESS Feel like I'm full of poison, Need to poke it with a pen, The storms outside and the storms inside, And that terrible, terrible wind. I shiver as I sit here, Shaking all that beats within, And every little hole in the cold night air Points its finger as if at a sin. The walls are uncertain, standing In the halls and all around, We hold our breath, staring to the sky For that other foot to come on down. And I'll be honest with you, I'm no good sometimes, I'm fried, I'm tired, I'm childish, Though I hope it never ends. And the sun comes out the next day, Did we always kno
  15. I think the only curve ball record Wilco could throw would be if this record wasn't a curve ball. Calm Reflection is the new Punk.
  16. Walken seems to have lost some of its playful insoucience in the translation to studio (slower and the slide seems more tentative), but the other two songs are pretty and set a nice mood. Can't wait to hear them in context!
  17. Well played. Sounds good, too!
  18. Just tried to get on Oink and found out I'd been dropped because of non-use.
  19. That sounds like an absolutely wonderful night!
  20. That's a bummer. I was looking forward to meeting you guys.
  21. Could you reseed the FLAC files, please.
