Bands you most want to see reunite -- where it IS possible.
Chez replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
Whiskeytown, Beulah, Galaxie 500, Pavement (I missed the last reunion) -
Spicy Italian is my grilling sausage of choice followed by Brats. Now my mouth is watering.

Like many on this thread, I grew up on the Who. And though I've moved on, there will never be a band that I love as much as I loved the Who back in the 70's and early 80's. For those of you looking for something new, I highly recommend the 2014 release by Wilko Johnson (Dr. Feelgood) and Roger Daltrey titled, "Going Back Home." Great stuff.

I'm updating my list to add: Parquet Courts -- Sunbathing Animal Real Estate -- Atlas Bob Mould -- Beauty & Ruin Wilko Johnson & Roger Daltrey -- Going Back Home

Thunderclap Newman -- "Something in the Air" (Pete Townshend plays bass and produced it). Saw Wilco cover it at the Vic several years ago. -
I had a great live music weekend. Thursday night, I drove down to Bloomington, IL and saw Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the Castle Theater and last night I saw Richard Thompson and his Electric Trio at Space in Evanston. Two great shows.

Jason Isbell to reunite with Drive-By Truckers for benefit.

I would give several body parts to see this show. -
1. Drive-By Truckers -- English Oceans 2. Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks -- Wig Out at Jag Bags 3. Old 97's -- Most Messed Up 4. Guided By Voices -- Motivational Jumpsuit I'm looking forward to the new releases by Spoon, Bob Mould and (especailly) Parquet Courts.

I don't think I've ever loved an album more or for longer than Quadrophenia! Happy Q Day.

Supposedly great bands/artists that you cant stand

Good grief! Some of my favorite bands of all time are hated by some of you? I guess there's no accounting for taste or personal preference. I HATE Mumford and I HATE all his Sons. I also can't stand Dave Mathews and Kings of Leon (except for Youth and Young Manhood which is quite good). -
O.K. Now that I think I understand the question (a great song by an artist you don't like), I'm changing my answer to "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent.
-
I love The Kinks -- but I thought the question stated that you don't NECESSARILY have to like the band (but can).
-
The Kinks -- "Lola"

A solo show at the Taste? That's kind of odd.

Wait. Jack Bruce is still alive?!

what's the most you've ever spent on a concert ticket?

Living Room show in Chicago in January. -
Four days to the White Sox opener! Weather is looking good. Well "better" is perhaps more accurate!

Was on the road most of last week. Saw the Bluegrass Jam @ The Station Inn in Nashville.
-
Saw The Del McCoury Band over the weekend. Enjoyed the hell out of it.

Unfortunately, DBT is not stopping in Chicago on their current tour. Indy, Milwaukee, Madison; but no dates in Chicago.
-
Alejandro Escovedo & Peter Buck at Lincoln Hall.
-
Yes!! "Short Man's Room" (with the Jayhawks) is a great album.
-
"Start Again" is pretty close to Pop Perfection.
