  1. Also, My Chemical Romance's last album was one of my 10 favorite of 2006.
  2. None of those things has anything to do with Blink 182 or Bob Dylan, so it doesn't explain anything, really. I'm just gonna put all my blasphemes out here. Dookie by Green Day is a top 10 record of the 90's. I'd rather listen to Paul McCartney than Dylan or Lennon anyday. The Blue Album by Weezer is a top 10 record of the 90's and Pinkerton is even better. Pinkerton is at least as good as any Wilco album not called Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. "Thrash Unreal" by Against Me! is the best song of 2007. Kanye West has released 2 classic albums, and neither is Graduation. In the context of it's crea
  3. "Don't Pass Me By" is a better song than anything Lennon released as a solo artist with the exception of "Watching The Wheels" and "Mother". Also, In my life, I've probably listened to Blink 182 at least as much as I've listened to Bob Dylan, probably more.
  4. There's a difference in my eyes between thinking something about a band, and thinking something about a whole group of people's taste in music or their abilities to enjoy a type of music. I don't have a problem with someone disliking hip hop, but if someone is going to tell me I don't get hip hop, I'd like to know what I'm missing.
  5. I hope Thomas' next stop is Cooperstown. I don't want him to keep on hanging around if he can't do it.
  6. Well, I think it's very important to remember that the Panthers haven't made the playoffs in almost a decade, and all of their games are televised. South Florida is a bandwagon town, if they were competitive, you'd have sell outs every night. That's just the way we are, it has nothing to do with hockey.
  7. They threw him four days in a row? That is terrible pen management, and you are asking to have him blow up. All that remains of the Orange Bowl. I can't wait to tear that sucker down the rest of the way and get the Marlins a park.
  8. Ok, so you don't like Eric Clapton. I think he's a pretty incredible guitarist, and I think his work on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" outclasses everything Harrison did with the Beatles.
  9. That Hanley Ramirez guy is pretty good, and Scott Olsen is proving the whole 3rd year starting pitcher thing right. He's been brilliant so far, glad to see him get over his emotions and just pitch.
  10. Harrison was a very good guitarist, and I love his stuff, but he couldn't blow you away like a Jimi Hendrix, or a Clapton. If anyone was good for the Beatles, it was George not Ringo. George was able to add texture and subtlety instead of having to play ripping leads or carry a song. He never could carry a song with his playing.
  11. I think that there are times when you can discuss things without fighting.
  12. And, do tell, why this is. I'm sure your reasoning for this is just fascinating and insightful. Something about being white, or not being "from there," right?
  13. The Beatles were a pretty terrific little rock and roll band. No stand out guitar players, but Paul's bass playing matches up with anyone, and Ringo was a brilliant drummer. That's my blasphemy. Ringo wasn't just a "good drummer for the Beatles." He would've been a great drummer for any band. He was an absolutely incredible musician behind the kit.
  14. The Panthers have a very dedicated fan base. They average 80% capacity (the best of any South Florida franchise). And this is a team that hasn't made the playoffs since 99-00. I'd say they aren't struggling anywhere except on the ice, which won't change if they move.
  15. Big blasphemy here: I could care less what an artist wants to do with their song. If they want to use it to sell macaroni, or shitty light beer, that's their choice.
  16. It also helps if you know the music of Jack and Brendan, both of whom wear their influences on their sleeves in almost all of their music.
  17. I don't really care much for the Doors, but they've got some really good songs. Also, 2 weeks ago, my mom had dinner with them and her friend Geoff, who then invited them over to his house and they jammed for about 4 hours. So, you know, can't hate on a bunch of guys that sound extremely cool and gracious. So, there's my blasphemy. I don't hate the Doors.
  18. It is definitely a nod to the great music of the past, but these are two of my favorite song writers right now, so you'll have to excuse me if I enjoy their music.
  19. Especially Yoshimi, which has lots of breakbeats and synthesizers. It's not a stretch to imagine that as hip hop music, which may be why it was chosen. I still think none of them are as good as the Grey Album.
  20. Well, you know, taste and all that. I love Hip Hopera as well, but being a big Flaming Lips fan, it's hard for me to not think that one is better. That and I think I get Hip Hopera confused with Q-Unit, a mash up of Queen and the G-Unit which isn't nearly as good.
  21. Don't you mean "the Kleptones' Yoshimi Battles The Hip Hop Robots is criminally underrated?" Sweet Baby's It's A Girl is the 2nd best punk album I've ever heard.
  22. He is a lot of fun to watch, for sure. Sundays are the best day of the week because there is day baseball. I think you all know by now I'm not much of a traditionalist, but baseball during the day is one of my favorite things ever.
