  1. It is crazy here in Seattle. Ground zero US. BTW March Madness just got cancelled.
  2. the official announcement was only an hour ago. i'm sure there will be something later in the day from Seattle Theater Group.
  3. the governor of washington is going to ban all public gatherings over 250 people today. sports, concerts, etc. so, the 2 seattle shows are definitely off.
  4. Neil is scrapping planned Crazy Horse tour due to COVID 19. Toward end of article on link. https://consequenceofsound.net/2020/03/neil-young-release-dates-archival-projects/
  5. Just put in my request for a refund for the Seattle show. Kind of bummed about it (& DBT too!). There is no way I can go given the circumstances. Not that I feel like going anyway. It's getting crazier daily. Italy in lock down, Pearl Jam tour postponed & Coachella most likely postponed until October. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. Think it is going to be a rugged summer for touring. I'm hoping all is better by the fall. I've got tickets for Roger Waters in September & Nick Cave in October. I don't get out much & have to be careful with my concert budget. I'm glad
  6. thanks, it is what it is. seriously hoping that this clears up some by September for Roger Waters & October for Nick Cave. I also have tickets for Sturgill Simpson in early May. A bit worried about that one. Of course, really hope I don't have the damn virus! am under very specific direction from my doctor. I have some symptoms but not all of them. Due to lack of testing capacity, they aren't testing me yet. That could change very quickly. If I get worse I'm to call doc immediately & will be tested. Fingers crossed. Everyone, be safe & well out there.
  7. Some news regarding the Seattle dates: Seattle Theater Group is offering refunds to anyone who requests them even if the show aren't cancelled due to the coronavirus. Sadly, I am going to have to take them up on this. At least I won't take the hit on the ticket cost. Hoping other venues/promoters follow their example. I have tickets to Drive-by Truckers the same week. Those weren't as expensive as Wilco but still it would be nice to get the money back. This bums me out some as these are 2 of my favorite bands. Since I'm high risk, there's no way that going would be a smart move for me or anyon
  8. Ya, things are pretty bad here & getting worse daily. & it is spreading. State of emergency has been declared in California too. Unfortunately for me, I don't think I'll be able to go to Wilco or DBT even if they happen. I'm at high risk for the virus. I'm not officially in quarantine but am effectively. Luckily I've got good doctors & have been given very specific instructions. If a few more things happen I'm most likely headed to the hospital. Scary times. BTW, in the short amount of time since I wrote the post about Young Fresh Fellows, things have gotten way worse in the city.
  9. just noticed that Young Fresh Fellows are opening in Seattle. nice!
  10. try not to spook the Horse when it comes to your town! https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/neil-young-2020-tour-crazy-horse-956928/

  13. it's a fine, fine record. very different sonically. i put DBT on the same level as Wilco which is very high indeed. check it out!
  14. News just coming out he was killed in a helicopter crash this morning https://consequenceofsound.net/2020/01/nba-legend-kobe-bryant-killed-in-helicopter-crash-report/
  15. only on youtube. that will more than suffice!
  16. looks like you all are having fun. sadly, being recently (early) retired i won't be able to do something like this. in younger & healthier days i certainly would have! enjoy the rest of the trip & remember to put on the sun screen!
  17. RIP Neil. He was a great drummer & interesting lyricist for sure. On the high school soundtrack for sure.
  18. living in seattle, i was lucky to see the hip many times mostly in small places. starting with "new orleans" era. when they played here, there was usually a healthy contingent down from vancouver. at 1 point, the owners of a big club were using me as a consultant about booking bands. when they asked me about the hip, i said book them now! they set the club record for alcohol sales that night, haha. the one big show i saw them do was opening for jimmy page & robert plant. the hip totally destroyed them with an unreal good opening set. i saw gord do a solo show once too & that was just a
  19. unlike say, the Hateful Fred?
  20. WIth Frusciante back, I'd put them up against any band musically. Vocally maybe another story but having John back is a big plus for that. He's a great singer. Listen to "By the Way". My favorite studio cd by them. I saw them last tour & while they were still really good there was something missing. This one was totally out of left field.
  21. rolling stone magazine has had zero coverage of this. pretty major story. all of the other music sites i frequent have had stories even though they all basically say the same thing.
