  1. I don't usually say anything like this but I think he may be America's greatest artist. I know there would be an argument about this but just look at the body of work. it's been a few years since i've seen him but last time was transcendent. i've seen him a real lot & there have been a few clunkers but he is always at least interesting. what i've heard of the current line up is fantastic.

  3. First day of Seattle shut down. Just had to go out & get some blood drawn. It was spooky out there. Very few people or cars. Looked like original Day the Earth Stood Still. At least it didn't look like a Living Dead sequel like NYC. Feel bad for those folks.
  4. thanks to all for good wishes
  5. My test came back negative. Still need to be careful but at least don't have to do full quarantine.
  6. He will be missed. Met him once. Very nice guy in addition to being a fabulous musician. Same age as me (59). RIP.
  7. there is no difference between medical & recreational here.
  8. interesting tidbit: cannabis stores are considered essential businesses in washington & will remain open during the shut down.
  9. Hope everything works out for you.
  10. No, but supposedly today. I wouldn't be surprised if it stretches until Wednesday though. I've come down with what I think is a nerve virus. I had 1 2 months ago. I had shingles about 6 years ago because of my messed up immune system & this is related. It attacked the nerves in my inner ear & there was permanent damage. Anyway, I woke up with half my face swelling up (opposite side from a few months ago) just like before. I called my doc's office to get a prescription & found they are closed for the week. I left a message but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully today. I have a med fo
  11. Governor Inslee of Washington just shut the state down. Stay at home order.
  12. Sadly, he had to fold 'em. Legend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AULOC--qUOI
  13. sorry to hear that. hang in there.
  14. Was supposed to be seeing the band tonight (Thursday). No make up dates yet. Probably smart to wait to see if things start loosening up at some point. I suspect if all goes well, Seattle will be tacked on the beginning of the Sleater Kinney shows. They are playing Spokane then (no SK though). I'm fine with no SK. I like them but would rather see Wilco on their own.
  15. thank you. test was fairly unpleasant & i put up with a lot of that sort of thing. i parked in a loading zone & a doctor in full gown came out & did her thing with me sitting in my car. i had to lie down when i got home. test results Monday or Tuesday. still taking the precautions i've been taking for the last few weeks.
  16. after trying for over 2 weeks, i'm finally getting tested today. i pointed out that it would seem logical to test at risk people with some of the symptoms. the testing situation in seattle is still dire.
  17. i can't get a test & am high risk with some symptoms. NBA players & actors don't seem to be having any trouble. lot of propaganda out there to hide the real trouble in the US.

  19. perceptions change when your area is infected. i live in seattle & have a friend in nyc who thought much the same as you. now that nyc is having a problem, the tune has changed considerably. here in seattle the number of infected is doubling every 2 days & there still aren't sufficient test kits so the number is likely to increase greatly & soon. already the hospitals & medical supplies are starting to get overwhelmed. so far, 50 restaurants have closed due to lack of business. the streets are empty, schools across the state have been ordered closed for 6 weeks to try & slo
  20. cool. best of luck to them. i haven't written about this here but i live in seattle. due to immune system issues & drugs for that, i'm high risk & indeed may already have the virus. i haven't been able to get tested yet due to lack of testing kits in the US. i have some symptoms but not quite enough to hit the testing threshold. supposedly that is going to be lowered by next week. i go see doc on tuesday & am going to insist on test. if nothing else for peace of mind. i haven't felt well though & its been slowly getting worse. so, fingers crossed for vaccine. & test kits i
