Strong melodies and hooks seem to be in short supply on this album.

If this album is too mellow and quiet, people still reserve the right to dislike it for that reason. It might not be a negative in your opinion, but obviously opinions aren't universal.

I had the same expectations/hope. Also, sometimes I wish he would change his tone up a little more.

Either Way just doesn't stir me. At Least That's What You Said can bring tears to my eye with that solo, Either Way just passes me by.

I hope Either Way grows on me, as of right now I think it sucks. Wish the guitar breakdown on Walken had more distortion/was played faster.

Alligator is one of my favorite albums of all time. I enjoy all their releases, and if they keep on improving like they've done...well this could be real special.

I went last year for the insane lineup, and it's definitely a very unique experience. If you stay in a tent, you could be a 20+ min walk from Centeroo (the area with all the stages and what not). RVs get to park right outside the gate. If you take a car, there's no rhyme or reason as to how you get placed, people could show up a whole day later than you and be 8 mins outside of Centeroo, who knows why. See, this is the kind of basic stuff that escapes you when you grew up in the age of cassettes and cds haha. I will have to go out and get a preamp and see how it goes. EDIT: I guess I do have a preamp. This one is newfangled. "With its built-in switchable phono preamp, the AT-PL50 may be connected directly to your computer, home stereo and to other components that have no dedicated turntable input. " So yeah now I dunno what the problem is again.

It's an audio technica. There aren't many options on it besides speed, size, start and stop. And I dunno what the preamp or dolby is. If a preamp is an amplifier actually in the player, I don't believe it has one or if it does I can find no switches for it.

Hey guys, I know quite a few of you out there play vinyl and are also...umm old. My girlfriend bought me a record player and a bunch of records recently, so yeah this is the first time I've used one and I'm having an issue with the sound. I hook it up to my speakers that I normally use for my computer, and I put the output jack into the headphones port. However, while the music sounds fine the vocals sound really distant, and it's the same thing with every record I've played. Am I not using the correct port? I'm confused as to why just the vocals are coming in quietly yet the music sounds f

I love that Isaac is back to his old ranting ways, just listen to his cackles on the opener, it's sick. I dunno why you can't understand what he is saying, on songs like Missed the Boat the vocals are pretty clear. Did you get the non-transcode oink version or the earlier leak?
