I play it on my bus a lot, but no one has said anything about it.

Check it out Ryan is pretty bad ass.

Don't let a bad choice in username from three years ago fool you, I don't think the new Shins was great either. But the lyrics in What Light should NEVER be touted as a highlight from SBS. And for the record, I do like SBS - minus What Light and Shake it Off.

Why is our country so violent? This is terribly sad.

^ That cover is pretty bitchin'

Jethro's post above did a good job clarifying my point. Better to me is obviously different than better to someone else. I think more slop, off the cuff type recording would do them so good. The production sounds good per se, but the live versions of Wilco songs usually come to surpass their studio originals because they are a bit more raw, more energetic, along with some slight tweakings of the arrangements as the band figures out how they song sounds best.
-
Well they definitely polished it up. If they really recorded most of it live, I don't understand why they couldn't get better takes. Or maybe they just prefer the more polished sound, cause I think most people would take live Wilco v. studio Wilco.

That was me . If you need the recording of that show just p.m. me. haha, but yeah it was a really great concert. See you at the Pines

To me, ALTWYS is enough emotion for 5 albums.

You must have been sitting right next to me (or in my lap, but I think I would have noticed the latter), was sitting in same spot. Got my Pines tix, woo!

Hate it Here Aamazing video from one of my fave songs on SBS. Check Glenn's fillls, pretty kickin Makes me wish they had a rawer sound on record, sometimes the polished thing doesn't work and it just sounds more real when it's more lo-fi. I'm not talking tape hiss, but maybe recording more things live would really work well.

You'll notice that file is very small, maybe like 12kb or something. You need to download a bittorent client (may i suggest BitTornado?) and then open the .torrent file and choose a path to save it to. You also need to make sure your internet connection is configured properly to use bittorent. If you are firewalled, i.e. using a router or behind a software firewall (they put them on in Windows XP nowadays I believe), you'll need to open specific ports in your connection and tell the bittorent client to use those ports when downloading the file. This will allow you to have a good download and u

Looks like the best festival lineup for this summer I've seen.

How is his whistling even real? It's too freaking gorgeous sounding.

The Pines is sold out? Jeez, it's GA, didn't think people would be hot to get on that. I guess I'll just buy through IHEG on Friday. If anyone is really hard up for money and needs a place to stay, I'll be living in an apartment in Amherst (10 mins from Noho), so just give me a PM.

Pitchfork has a good interview with Ted Leo up today. Here's an excerpt about Unwanted Things, Bottle of Buckie, and Bomb.Repeat.Bomb, some of the hotly debated songs around here :

Who are the Fabs? For someone who can't be overrated it's just weird I have no clue who they are
-
Exactly, this is the band that toured for approximately 37 years after AGIB came out.
-
Ehh I don't buy that. People will always make music and therefore albums, and since playing shows accounts for most of a band's income they can always just tour and sell their merch at shows. My question is, how does the RIAA actually identify people? They can't track ysi, sendspace, etc links correct? Can they track Oink/invite-only places torrents? Do they do it through Limewire, Bearshare, or public torrents? Soulseek? I feel like I'm safe if I'm only using Oink and various sendspace links from forums/blogs. I'm lucky at my school that they don't block torrents and I've never he
