  1. Was this it? http://archive.org/details/gd83-04-10.sbd.harrell.16579.sbeok.shnf
  2. You are soooo cool! Why don't you contact ol' George and let him know you want to be his friend? He could use the company, and based on your posts, I think the two of you would get along.
  3. What if he just guns down another unarmed teenage boy? This guy must be the biggest pussy ever to walk the earth. When his original ex-fiancee filed a restraining order against him for domestic abuse, he filed a restraining order against her. Then his current soon-to-be-ex tells police he smashed her iPad to pieces, and his reply is that she hit him with it first. No wonder he felt it necessary to use deadly force against someone he undoubtedly provoked, who was armed with Skittles and iced tea. I have confidence he will end up getting a serious ass-whipping some day...in prison. Hope no o
  4. Did you "tend to side" with him after his ex-fiancee filed a restraining order against him in 2005, alleging domestic violence? Okay, never mind, I think we know where you stand on this. He will have to kill a woman next before you stop "tending" to side with him. Gotcha. By the way, it is extremely common for victims of domestic abuse to fail to press charges. Not because the abuser was innocent, but because the victim is afraid of him.
  5. My post was not specifically about you. There are plenty of people on the right who have practically deified this murderer as some kind of 2nd Amendment hero. If he's not a sociopath, he clearly has some kind of mental health problem. His persistent run-ins with the law (I forgot to mention the domestic abuse restraining order from his past) have shown that. And now, his soon-to-be-ex has told the press that he feels "invincible." I'm not a mental health professional either, but I have several friends who are, and I feel pretty confident that they would all agree, this guy has no business carr
  6. What makes Zimmerman the gold standard for unrelenting anger is Zimmerman himself. Maybe if the guy just took a break and kept himself out of the press, the anger and sadness would fade like any other grieving situation. Instead, the guy keeps popping up like a bad penny. Going to the gun factory and smiling while he shakes hands with the manufacturer of the exact same gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin, with a big shit-eating grin on his face? WTF? Speeding tickets, threatening his ex and his father-in-law? Being pulled over in Texas with a gun in his glove compartment? Seriously? I am dying
  7. I think Bryan Cranston deserves a lot of credit for making the character sympathetic. No matter how low he sinks, his redeeming qualities keep bobbing back to the surface unexpectedly. Just the fact that he got teary-eyed when Skyler suggested putting the hit on Jesse is to his credit. Then his refusal (or maybe it was inability) to engage in a shootout with Hank and Gomez. He could possibly have killed Jesse, who was unarmed. And then he yelled for Hank to get down when the Nazis began to arrive. He may be 95% "bad," but he's never going to get to 100%. For me, the morality tale of a show l
  8. Not trying to be a smartass here, but why not just call the radio station and ask for their playlist from that time? Then at least you will have a finite number of songs to search through.
  9. Nope, he gets zero credit. We need to see photographs, and also have experts testify that they have not been Photoshopped. "We conservatives have an uncanny ability to know what Ronald Reagan would do at any given time. Syria conflict? Invade. Obamacare? Repeal. Soup or salad? Jelly beans." - Stephen Colbert
  10. My prediction is Gomie, as he was given the chance to appear on Talking Bad at 11:00. But I have been wrong before already. I really like the fact that the twists and turns do not seem contrived at all to me, e.g., Walt being surprised by Jesse being a rat makes sense to me, because Walt doesn't see Jesse from the perspective we do.
  11. He's ba-a-a-ack. http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerman-custody-domestic-incident-involving-gun/story?id=20203329
  12. I gotcha. I think the Dems currently have less of a problem in that regard than the Repubs. Local and state Dem politics seems to be the same messy big tent party it always has been...or at least as far back as I can remember. I don't so much object to the moderate Repubs being "primaried." I am more concerned when the moderates lose...which leads to what I see as a big part of the current problem, what with Tea Party ideologues actually making it into Congress. Years ago, I think people disliked politicians mainly because they were always willing to compromise. Ah, for those good ol' days
  13. I agree, excellent analysis, bleedorange. Only one thing: the Democrats have moved closer to the center, and even past it. Can anyone really imagine Jimmy Carter signing off on NAFTA? People were incredibly pissed at Clinton at the time for "acting like a right winger." The same was true for welfare reform. And the Obama administration's willingness to put the pedal down on the gas in Afghanistan shows that the Democrats can be just as hawkish on national security as the Republicans. Thing is, the whole country has shifted somewhat to the right ever since Ronald Reagan. I happen to think h
  14. I bought it, and I was pretty breathless during the last 5-10 minutes. I honestly think Walt never even considered Jesse as a potential rat. It wasn't so much a confession as a recitation of what he had done for him. Of course, if he had thought it through (which I doubt he had), there is also the distinct possibility that none of it would be admissible evidence. I don't think Hank has done anything like get a warrant for a wiretap. He may be head of his office, but he still needs to go through the proper channels, and he hasn't done that at all. Gomie is along for the ride, but that's about
  15. I would take it a step further. I'd be hard pressed to come up with a list of prominent people on the left who have said off-the-wall stuff anywhere near what the crazies on the right have. Bill Maher? He's a stand-up comedian with an HBO show. Jon Stewart? Again, Comedy Central. Keith Olbermann? Has faded into obscurity, but isn't he mainly known as a sportscaster to most? Sure, people listen to Maher and Stewart, but I don't think anyone takes them all that seriously as political commentators or even "prominent" lefties. Love those guys, by the way.
  16. Why would any of us feel limited to debating ideas, not people? Politics in America is incredibly juvenile, much more akin to a high school presidential race than a true debate between grownups. It seems to be more adult in Europe, but I've never lived there, so who knows... I don't delude myself into thinking that President Obama won election and reelection solely on the basis of his better ideas. Many voted for him because of the "historic" nature of being the first black President, his "Hollywood" like aura, and his gleaming white smile. Let's be honest here. And plenty of people would vo
  17. Wow, Real Clear Politics is where the mainstream right wing can be found? That's really interesting, as I used to read their polls almost daily when I was campaigning for President Obama. It's a shame that a nasty wench like Maureen Dowd has a voice there, though. (Her latest piece: "Barry's War Within," in which she continuously refers to our President as "Barry." Pretty damned disrespectful, but par for the course with her.) I can see where IRDB is coming from when it comes to voices on the right. Sure, there are mainstream Republicans, but they are increasingly being "primaried" by folk
  18. I saw one recently on a new release from Dead.net, and the person in the video used disposable latex gloves, like what a surgeon or dentist would use. Someone commented in the thread that it was a rather "antiseptic" presentation, which made me laugh out loud.
  19. Dude must really like snow. Come on, Jeff, back to F-L-A. Palm trees in the winter time!
  20. I've listened to about half of the 2-disc Another Self-Portrait so far, and it's okay. Some of it is better than what was originally released, some is not really memorable. I have always been a big fan of Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home through Blonde on Blonde period, not a big fan of the John Wesley Harding through New Morning period. This won't change that, but at least it's listenable. Some of the stuff he did on the originals - the cheesy covers, running amok with strings - is absent here, and that's all to the good. I wouldn't call it "fulfilling" or whatever David Fricke said in his
