  1. Thanks Analogman, It felt like the U2 hype machine lost steam once they finished up Letterman and did their 3 city stint in March. I imagine them showing up to the first show after sipping Iced Tea on the beaches of Malibu. But it looks like they have been rehearsing. Although, these clips could be a little longer. I think Bono's idea of taking over 2009 hasn't happened yet at all. I'm looking forward to seeing them in September at Foxboro, MA, but I'm in no rush either. Don't want to rush my summer to see them. Thanks, Kristofor PS I'll either be excited or a little bit upset when
  2. Hey Folks going tonight, Have A Fun TIme!!!! Enjoy, Kristofor PS Can't wait to see what happens on night one of the US Summer Tour.
  3. Hey Folks, So how long until we have a fan made music video for Bull Black Nova set to Pulp Fiction? I dare ya, m&*%therf^*^r Kristofor
  4. Hey, I was at the T-Bones Steakhouse in Hudson, NH and before my friend and I left we heard You Never Know. Definitely satellite radio. It was still a shock to hear that song now considering the album isn't out till the end of the month. I realize it's on such a place(satellite radio), but it's still odd to hear Wilco out and about. Actually, when I was in Burger King in the same town in April I heard Impossible Germany. Thanks, Kristofor
  5. Thanks for this Pete!! Can't wait to hear this right now. Intrigued at how it's going to sound. I forgot how they come back in from the solo. Kristofor Edit: Wow, this is awesome to have again. Definitely a version to put on and trick fellow Wilco fans.
  6. Hey, I am going to post 5 live tracks here. I hope we get the Impossible Germany version that we've discussed on here. 1st one is the 2nd live performance of Shake It Off from Chicago 11-24-06. My first Wilco show in Chicago. I'm still a big fan of the song when it's done live. http://www.sendspace.com/file/jpldiw Also, from that same show is What Light which I believe was sung in a lower key. http://www.sendspace.com/file/ywiady Another song from that show is Let's Not Get Carried Away. Definitely miss that song. 2nd to last performance. http://www.sendspace.com/file/lcqcyd The fi
  7. Hey akapd, Can you post that here for us? It'd be greatly appreciated! I may find and post an early version of What Light or Walken on here to return the love. Thanks, Kristofor
  8. Thanks for the info! Yeah, I saw them at the Pines Theater on July 16,2006 and I listened to that on my computer after I posted and the solo is the same as the studio recording. Hmm...my 1st iPod should have the 1st live performance or rather the one with the solo in the middle. But it hasn't been working for awhile. Thanks, Kristofor
  9. Hey, That reminds me. Does anyone have a quick link to the 1st ever live performance of Impossible Germany when the guitar solo was in the middle and than the last verse comes in? I had it on my iTunes but I deleted it without knowing what significance it had. I'll check WIlcobase than Owl & Bear. Thanks, Kristofor
  10. Hey Folks, Wow, this is very exciting!! I was always fascinated with how this would have sounded in the Summerteeth era. It's a shame it didn't end up on the leaked demos. So I wonder if this song sounds like the Wilco Book tracks? Weren't some of the songs like What Good Am I and This Is New from Adult Head? Can't place when those recordings were done. 2003-2005? Also, the fact that it was recorded during 2003 makes me wonder how many other tracks we'll get to eventually hear. Wait...ok I assume these were the A Ghost Is Born sessions? It's nice to be getting some good b-sides once again
  11. Hey Paul, Thanks for all of your show reports!! I was afraid (no not in a horror movie type of way) that it'd be a bit tough or get a show report a day late or nothing at all. But this has been fun and exciting to see how things are going on the road for the new album. Thanks, Kristofor
  12. Hey, (ok 2nd time to try and post this for you...VC has been having its problems..next time I should copy my text before posting).... OK I know that Calexico helped out on the horns in 05. Not sure which show it is, but I know that I have it on one of my bootleg shows. I think somewhere in the Southwest? 2nd, in 06 at Brown University Wilco brought on stage 3 students who played horns on a couple of songs and than took them to NY/NJ for the next few nights. 3rd, the Winter Residency in 08 brought about the Total Pros. Although, I think they may have done something prior to that. So on the
  13. Sad and shocking news. Bizarre for me since my friend made me a DVD of Wilco from 5-23-95. Which he gave me Saturday the 23rd and tonight around 2 a.m. I went to go pop on my dvd player in my room and I was thinking I haven't been on VC in awhile. So I was pretty shocked when I logged in. But yeah it's bizarre that after having a lopsided collection of post 02 shows, I finally can get a chance to see what looks like an amazing show from early on. Especially since I was really looking forward to seeing Jay Bennett on this dvd. So it was very shocking to me to see the sad news as my dvd was lo
  14. !lgoose!, I realize that. I was just trying to use that movie as an example to put across my opinion on the song which keeps changing with each listen. Kristofor
  15. I'll Fight - Hmm. I'm trying to think of a certain philosophy that was brought up when The Thin Red Line came out in 1999. I remember there was confusion over which actor was which soldier because the 3 leads were relative unknowns. But there was a lengthy article about how that was deliberate to show that in war every man/woman is pretty much the same since they are dressed alike. There's a certain sense of anonymity and losing your identity. So in reference to the song, I think the idea that I keep toying around with is the point that when all is said and done it really didn't matter who
  16. Speed Racer, I like your idea about Bull Black Nova. It's interesting when I have panic attacks, I want to abandon my body sometime. Awful feeling. So I think the idea that the song is kind of set in a car that is known as a muscle car for speeding makes sense. Almost like running away from yourself or your problems. In fact, the song does kind of sound like what a car chase or rather speeding away from nothing would sound like. There's definitely a feeling of stuff catching up to the song narrator in the lyrics and melody. Bernard Herrmann would be proud. There's also hints of either hy
  17. I'll Fight - To me the song is so good that it has a different meaning every time I play it. I think the repeated part is sort of a tongue in cheek "brainwashing" reference either from a soldier's or lover's perception. People being trained to kill for love of their country or for the love of a lover or both. I still think I hear "I'll vote" in the first 30 seconds of the song. Which makes it even more interesting. But all of that being said I still think the underlying sentiment is very heartfelt. Like some have mentioned along the same lines as say When The Roses Bloom Again or At M
  18. So does anyone have any ideas or suspicions about what songs on this album will get the Please Be Patient With Me and Leave Me Like You Found Me treatment in concert? I can't think of any. I think everything has a good shot of being played and rotated. I am interested to see how they pull off Deeper Down live. I guess for me the three songs I can't wait to hear live or on a boot that hopefully surfaces over the next month: Bull Black Nova, Everlasting, Deeper Down. It'll be interesting to see how far apart they keep Spiders and Bull Black Nova from each other in the sets. Or maybe not at all
  19. Wow! I'll admit at first listen in my room with the sound not too loud, I was a bit let down. In fact, the song that I loved the first time around was Solitaire. I didn't get to appreciate Bull Black Nova on first listen. But than I got into my car at 2a.m. and drove around. That's when this album really hit me. I know for me Deeper Down was really a WTF moment. Where most bands, imo, would put this near the end of a record, Wilco puts it 2nd. But I've listened to this song the 2nd most out of all the others. I love the lyrics and music. I can't wait to read the lyrics. Some of the lyric
  20. Thanks to Luke, Conor, and Mike!!! If anyone would like this in the next 10 minutes before I take this to my car and drive around with it. Email me at kgeorgeou@comcast.net Kristofor
  21. kgeorgeou@comcast.net I just finished putting together a 15 slide Power Point presentation and am ready for Grad School to finish. This is so amazingly perfect now. Wow. Extremely Surprised! I'll keep trying on the net. If I find I'll forward my PM to someone else. Kristofor PS Here We Go !!! PPS No more talk about Jay Bennett and album covers for at least 2 weeks. lol.
  22. Please Be Patient With Me sounds like a good mantra at this church. I was thinking of how many people I peddled Wilco to in the past. One such friend called me a Wilco Peddler. LOL. 7 people. 1 liked them but didn't follow through or something like that. Although he did go see them once. But all 7 have seen Wilco and came away blown away. But yeah at least half of them have gone to that place where they seek all Wilco music and do that on their own and don't have me make them live cds or album mixes. It's nice to be able to share this band with people close to me. Kristofor PS Yea
  23. I saw Elvis Costello solo when he toured with Bob Dylan 2 years ago. It's safe to say that Elvis Costello stole the show in my eyes and ears.
  24. Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. Lone Starr: What's that make us? Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become. I always think of this when I hear that line in You Are My Face! Lol.
