  1. It is my honor to announce the arrival on earth of Via Chicago's newest Wilco fan! He arrived on November 16th, although he wasn't actually due until December 22nd! :blink

Happily, Oceanman's little boy is in great shape, as these photos will attest! His name is Parker Townes.

Isn't he beautiful? Here are some more photos:

    One

    Two

    Three

    Four

    Here are Parker's vital stats:

    Born: 11-16-06 @ 1:53 p.m.

and the rest you'll have to get from Oceanman because I don't know his height or weight!

    Hugs and congratulations,

    :hug Ryan and Amy! :hug

Welcome to the world, Parker! :cheekkiss

  2. Sorry to massively bump this thread, but I was a photo contest winner and I have patiently waited for my prize but nothing has arrived in the mail. Is anyone else still waiting or am I a hiccup in the system?

(And who's the grand winner, anyways?)

Perhaps you ought to drop them a note....it does sound like you might have been accidentally overlooked.

I also wondered if they had chosen a Grand Prize winner. They had a lot of fabulous stuff to choose from! :yes

  3. A few more pics... I've been wrestling with some pic editing issues with my new iBook (my old system 9 photoshop won't work with it, and i can't figure out iPhoto for some reason), but downloaded Gimp and am finally back in the game. These are nowhere near as good as what's already been posted, but I thought they were kind of cool in an artsy-fartsy abstract kind of way. Especially the blue one... that picture looks like what the ending of Handshake Drugs sounded like (to me, anyay).

Oh, nice! I love the side perspective on the band shell, and you're right, the blue one does look like the end of Handshake Drugs sounds! :thumbup

  4. Well Brianne, I made you this lovely berry-topped cake, and it turned out perfectly, but then I went and left it where the kids could find it.........big mistake! :blink

But at least there's still this sliver left for you to wrap up your birthday with, so enjoy! :cheekkiss

Hope you had a marvelous time at Largo! Wish I could've been there too. Have a wonderful new year of your life! :dance

  5. More great pics kidsmoke, thank you! Great shots of Glenn BTW...he's a hard man to photo me thinks....always in motion...or mobile, if you will. *ducks* ;) :blush

Now that creativetype has revealed what kind of camera he uses (LOL), do you mind telling us what you were using as well?

I'm on a quest to find a new camera...you guys have inspired me.

My camera is a Sony as well.....a Cyber-Shot, model # DSC-H1. It doesn't have the low-light capabilities that Clay's does, so some photoshop fiddling can be necessary at times. Also, if you have a lot of blue- or pale-eyed people in the family, I must say that this camera's red-eye reduction function isn't too hot. (Clay, do you have problems with that function in your camera?) My family are all blue-eyed, so it's a bit of a problem. I'm not sure the DSC-H1 still exists...Sony has come out with the DSC-H2, which my son says is a big improvement. Better lens, for one thing.

Thanks for your nice words! Now go shop! :w00t Then next round of concerts, we can ooh and ahh over your photos. B)

  6. Great pictures Donna, I like this one, looks like he is waving right at ya ;)

    PS...

Don't know how to insert the pic so I got the link to work...

(kidsmoke edit: Here Bonnie, I did it for you....you right-click on the pic and copy the properties up through the jpg, then bring it to your post and click the "insert image" little tree there, and paste in the address you've copied)

I love that picture too! I just got lucky on that. It's during Kingpin, and he was exhorting us to scream and get all that out of our systems, for our own good health! :lol

  7. SHHHHHHH ... NEVER admit to taking bad pics.

Only show the good stuff and let people assume you only take really nice photos.

My philosophy: Shoot 100, hope for 10 to turn out.

    :guitar

:lol Yeah, but I'm too honest for my own good.....and besides, ya know what? Sometimes I really like the sheer energy of some of the blurred ones, even though they are imperfect. Like that one where Nels is leaning onto Jeff.....oh wait, it's one of the Wichita photos, not Springfield.....and his body mirrors the curve of the stage curves.....purdy. :thumbup

I did hold back the worst of the bunch though, believe me! :P

But yeah, I agree with your philosophy of taking masses of photos and hoping for even 5 or maybe 10% to come out well.
