  1. Thanks, Craig. Always love your recordings and really appreciate all your hard work.
  2. They're all great, but the DC one with the bald eagle looks fantastic.
  3. There is supposed to be a link for the sale of those extra 100 tickets for the DC show, but it's not there. Has anyone figured out where those tickets will be on-sale Monday? Thanks
  4. I got lucky & got seats during the pre-sale. It is a general admission show. And the tickets are going out via UPS, so unfortunately scalpers can screw people.
  5. Anyone know the answer yet?
  6. I went to Merriweather once when I first moved to DC in '03 and had a terrible experience, so I've never been back. I couldn't see or hear Radiohead from the lawn. I also think it would be a huge disappointment to see Wilco there, when they you can get them up close at the 930 so often.
  7. Sendspace this time: http://www.sendspace.com/file/jaxzox Enjoy!
  8. I have been going through my bootleg catalogue and picking & choosing from Jeff's solo performances to recreate Wilco albums. I've started with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - since that material is easiest to track down. I thought I'd share the results with everyone. I've worked with Audacity a little to even out some of the rough crowd noise, but I haven't done anything too fancy. It's far from perfect, but not bad. The album is at the following link, all the tracks are mp3's: http://www.yousendit.com/download/WUJiMWZJNHZJMHMwTVE9PQ Here's the tracklist, and the shows they came from: 1.
  9. if you are torrent-able: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=503979 there's another source there too.
  10. I like Def Leppard sliding in just before the White Album. That's a nice one.

Yeah, love listening to that boot. Really extended solo on that version too, an extra 2 minutes or so. Great show overall - loose and fun.
  12. My most memorable walkout was a George Clinton show at the 930 Club about 3 years ago. He had a stage ensemble of like 20 people, rotating singers and performers. There were whole shift changes between songs, like a hockey team - 6 people would leave the stage and 6 more would come on. George was probably on stage for about half the show. It got to be about 2:00am and the Club turned on all the lights trying to get the band to stop, but HE KEPT PLAYING. At least half the audience had left by then. For some reason, we tried to stick it out, because I'm never in favor of walking out on a show, b
  13. His sentences are short and sweet. He leaves a lot of room for the reader to fill in the gaps. I like that style, but it's not for everyone. I read "All the Pretty Horses" within the last year and that is a great story. He writes violence really well. That's the first one in the Border trilogy (which also includes Blood Meridian), which is supposed to be his strongest material. A couple of his books have already gotten film treatments, but I've never seen any of those.
  14. I came up with most of the tracks off AGIB from a few 2003 shows. Some of these versions are pretty cool. 15. I'm hoping for that one too. Back when AGIB came out, I think Hell is Chrome was the only track that hadn't really popped up anywhere else prior to the album (Wilco live, Jeff solo, some other EP), and it was/is one of my favorite Wilco songs.
  16. I didn't know much about him, but the 60 Minutes retrospective last night was quite good. Interesting to see how integrated he was in the New Orleans music community and how close he was with Jimmy Buffett. Plus, that footage of him getting shot in the arm in Vietnam... man, that kind of journalism is just nuts.
  17. Oh, and "Wonderwall" sounds much more like Billy Corgan than Thom.
  18. I downloaded this off of ZOMB torrents two weeks ago or so, I think it's still up there (http://zombtracker.the-zomb.com/index.php - registration required). It doesn't sound like an official release by any means. They are all studio tracks, but they vary in sound quality and clarity. To my ear, "Wish you were Here" doesn't sound like Thom at all - not even sure it's Radiohead performing it.
  19. I found Wilco on Napster back in early 2000, when it was free and everyone was stealing music. Although, my first Wilco experience was from uncopyrighted material: I downloaded a Jeff solo acoustic version of "I'm Always in Love" (which I later identified as an Abbey Pub bootleg). Still love that version. I bought Being There a few months later and went on from there. My first Wilco live experience was 3-8-2001, Jeff solo at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Of course, this was a great show, documented in the Wilco Movie: 1. Not For The Season 2. Sunken Treasure 3. A Shot In The Arm
  20. Caribean Queen ??? That's not that awful 80's song is it?
  21. That is the weirdest list I've ever seen. Beyond the top 10 it is so random. What on earth is their definition of a song-writer?
  22. Too many great ones already mentioned, but here are some new entries: My Morning Jacket - Dondante Weezer - Only in Dreams Billy Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant Allman Brothers - Whipping Post Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry Pearl Jam - Release Gillian Welch - I Dream a Highway GnR - Estranged Janis Joplin - Ball & Chain Lynryd Skynryd - Free Bird The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Just missing the cut: Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (6:53) Radiohead - Paranoid Android (this feels longer than 6:25)
  23. Gumbopages doesn't have a great tab for "Kamera." I think it's pretty close on the chords, but it doesn't sound like the album version at all. I think you have to tune to Open D to get what Jeff's doing.
  24. Thanks for putting this out there so quickly CBD. I downloaded v. 1 and it sounds great. Great work!
