  1. -being done with classes -not having to study for Step 1 -going to Montana in June -starting clinical rotations in July (except surgery...I'm dreading that one moreso than looking forward to it)
  2. True, but there is a substantial difference between saying "Lieberman is wrong" and "Lieberman is lying."
  3. So there's no Al Qaeda presence in Iraq?
  4. I don't think he's being dishonest. He's liberal on most issues, but I guess he considers national defense/foreign policy to be the overriding issue. And he's correct about Democrats moving away from the hawkish foreign policy of JFK (and to some degree Clinton) even if you disagree with him that it's a bad thing. What's with all the hatin' on sacks of shit?
  5. Considering the government created prostitutes and cancer to oppress black people...
  6. Fair enough. I don't think his comments have to be racist or anti-American to be vile. Of course, given Wright's heavy use of distortions and character assassination in his sermons, he shouldn't be too surprised to find himself the target of the same type of attacks. I agree with you on that, and my criticism is intended to be directed at Wright moreso than Obama.
  7. So how many Sundays can he preach hate before it becomes a problem? To be fair, I haven't read or listened to the full sermons, but I did read an expanded version of the "God Damn America" sermon posted here. The several paragraphs of leftwing talking points (including comparing Clarence Thomas to Uncle Tom and several distortions and downright lies) didn't seem to put it in a better light. Yeah, I would say Obama's response was fairly Christian. My only problem is that - - while Jesus would certainly love the sinner -- if someone was giving false teachings in the name of God, he wo
  8. Fair enough. My solution is to abolish the death penalty and decriminalize drugs. What's yours?
  9. Are you saying that being a victim of racism prevents one from also being a racist?
  10. I strongly disagree with that. Depends on what racial inequalities you are referring to, but in general improving education would go a long way. I would do this through school choice and vouchers, but that's just me. I would be more than just angry if the government engineered AIDS and crack to oppress my race. Give me an example of the inequalities to which you are referring.
  11. My point was that no one chooses their ancestors, and just the fact that their status puts us at an advantage or disadvantage is unfair. Trying to have the government correct those injustices just adds to the problem. That's not at all what I was saying. They can complain all they want, but moving forward and even forgiving those that wronged them might be more beneficial. I wasn't directly addressing Wright in my post, but as a Christian preacher he should be following the example of Christ and be willing to forgive "white America" instead of spreading hate with conspiracy theories and
  12. But everyone is unfairly affected by what happened to their ancestors. Trying to have the government come in and correct it just adds to the injustice.
  13. She had actually planned on mentioning that, but her speech was cut short by gunfire from Bosnian snipers.
  14. Maybe a different cartoon version.
  15. There have been plenty of times when Bush or other Republicans have been held accountable for things that crazy rightwing religious nuts like Falwell or Robertson have said. I just find the different standard for Obama to be interesting. And when he was governor, he pardoned Keith Richards.
  16. Politicians should not be held responsible for the crazy views of their supporters. (unless they're Republican)
