Sounds like jealousy over his money. Why do the fans care how much money he makes? Also, well, I thought we were debating whether or not that perception of him was reasonable or not. We all understand that the perception exists, but giving a bit of an explanation for why it exists doesn't mean that it's correct. IMO.

I dunno, looks like the Tigers might have a World Series winner without him. That being said, a deal for Verlander would have to include the Yanks picking up a ton of A-Rod's salary (J.V. is on a rookie contract, so he's probably making the league minimum). I'm sure the Tigers would let the Yankees take their pick of Zach Miner, Wilfredo Ledezma, Jason Grilli, and maybe Nate Robertson. Go nuts, Yanks.

I don't know, I sort of want to know what these songs sound like with Scarlett Johansson singing them before I can really pass judgement.

That's fair. I hate him for the same reason. However... No one on the team has taken them to a championship in several years, and A-Rod has done more to get them close than almost anyone else on the team. I understand that Yankees fans want championships, I just think that too much of the blame is placed on A-Rod unfairly. He's certainly a little bitch, but he's also a great player.

How does Johnny Damon acting cool in a bar help his team win? A-Rod was last year's American League MVP. And he fully deserved it. I would have to think that he must have played a pretty big role in getting them to the post season, eh?

Is Polanco the only former Card on the Tigers roster? I think so but not too sure...

Sorry, but this made me LOL.

So long as he doesn't take a Production Assistant to Outback, his job at ESPN would be secure. -
Yeah, Weaver has sucked in a lot of places other than New York. He's just not that good of a pitcher other than occassional flashes of excellence -- New York doesn't have anything to do with it in his case.

I remember that. That security guard was on the ball. He had that guy by the ankles before the drunko had completely landed on the stage.

I could almost swear that the first time I saw "The Late Greats" performed, the line was "The best laugh never leaves your lungs." Surprised to see that it was "life" on the album. I sort of like the way I originally heard it better, but its still a great line.

The description of the event in the Pitchfork write up makes it sound even more violent than anything that's already been debunked here...

Just jumping onto stage isn't necessarily a breach at certain types of shows. As has been stated, at some kinds of shows it is expected or even encourage. I've never been under the impression that a Wilco show was like this at all though. If that guy thought so, well, he's an idiot, but whatever. However, making physical contact with a performer (especially mid-song when they're engaged in the music) is obviously crossing a line. Any contact between performer and fans should be initiated by the performer because, as been stated, there's no way for the guys in the band to tell the differe

I think he told me that the place filled up when there were races at M.I.S., but otherwise the business was mostly the restaurant.

Cool. For two years in college I lived with a guy from Clinton. His family owns a (the?) hotel there.

He is a man of many talents, but acting is definately near the bottom of the list, below comedy writing, songwriting, singing and guitar playing.

That is why A-Rod gets called a bitch. And rightfully so. He is a bitch. But that play doesn't diminish his talents. Furthermore, I never, ever see that play cited by fans or media when talking about all the reasons that he is to blame for the Yankees' failure to win a championship in the last few years. It is only brought up by Red Sox fans (and the occassionally other random A-Rod hater).

Yeah, the threat is assault. Actual contact would be battery.

The "Radio Cure" debate is pretty easily answered. It's in the liner notes of the CD.

Irish Hills? Cool.

I remember that guy, austrya! Not sure if I've ever seen him at Comerica either though, now that you mention it. I'd forgotten about him until you mentioned him, to be honest with you. How far from Detroit did you grow up? Any Detroiters or former Detroiters know if The Brow is still alive?

Certainly a bummer, but it might make for a better game since the pitchers will now get to go on regular rest.
