  1. Some personal favorites: Reed/Morrison (Velvet Underground - both very underrated) Verlaine/Lloyd (Television) John Frusciante (RHCP) Billy Zoom (X) Jack White (Stripes) Mick Jones (the Clash - also underrated) Roger Miller (Mission of Burma) Moore/Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) Joey Santiago (the Pixies)
  2. I hope they tour with Alice in Chains.
  3. http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2006/10/1908.cfm This seems like a bad idea.
  4. Although the other guitarist in his band was pretty damn good too.
  5. I agree with you that Randolph isn't a great field manager, but this is a weird argument, considering the Mets had the best record in the National League this year.
  6. It doesn't bother me really, it just feels weird. I'm used to the Tigers being loveable (and sometimes not that loveable) losers. This is awesome.
  7. Isiah was even a douchebag as a player. He's one of those guys that everyone knew they'd hate if he wasn't on their team. Almost as much as Laimbeer. Although nowadays, Laimbeer is way more beloved in Detroit than Isiah is. I remember one time when Isiah broke his hand punching Laimbeer in the back of the head, while Laimbeer was left unhurt. That was awesome. That's what should happen when you sucker punch someone like that (especially your own teammate). I do love how, after being in Isiah's shadow during the Bad Boys years, Joe Dumars is having the last laugh now. Not that I expec
  8. If it were pre-season picks, then certainly everyone would be off the hook for not picking the Tigers. I am an optimistic fan, and I was calling for an 85-88 win season, with a solid third-place finish in the division. And I would have been very happy with that. Everyone picking the Tigers is just bizarre. Doesn't matter that they were good all season, I still can't believe they're now the favorites in the World Series. Crazy. That being said, I say Tigers in 6 (and just because of I'm saying that, it will be Cardinals in 4 or 5). But they've now been in the playoffs in 6
  9. I think the new ball is synthetic, where as the old one was real leather. Perhaps the change was a nod to animal rights folks. All indicators are that the new ball sucks though. Too slippery, not as bouncy. They're gonna have to do something about that. Isiah has no business getting upset about people criticizing the way he's run that team. He's done a horrible job. Even if this particular move pays off (which it probably won't, now that this kid will be relying on Isiah to coach him into the NBA game), it doesn't mean that there was anything wrong with Anthony's criticism.
  10. I gave the Cards a good chance at the opening of the playoffs. Not as much for the Tigers. But I'm not an expert. These guys are. Supposedly. I should also point out that zero of them picked the Tigers to get out of the first round, and only one guy picked the Cardinals to win their first round series. My point was less to mock their picks though, and more to mock the idea of experts in general. Why are these guys paid to share their baseball knowledge? They don't know any better than the fans. Fair enough.
  11. I'm no Sox fan, but I'm having trouble believing that you really feel as though its better to be terrible than to compete for most of the year.
  12. Nice job, ESPN Panel O' Experts. Not only did all 19 of you pick a team that ended up not making it to the World Series to win it all, but you also all picked a team that didn't make it to be the loser. That's right, not one single expert correctly picked one single league champion. Experts. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2006...tory?id=2610409
  13. I like 'em with two legs though. You gotta admit it, tugmoose, you do too. Call me shallow if you must.

  15. Baseball has made Reni and I friends. But now we must be enemies. Rawr!!! Anyway, I'm glad the Cards won. I like the Cards. But I sure hope they roll over and die now.
  16. This is glorious news. Thank you, sir.
  17. AND I won't be in town that weekend. Balls. Stupid family in Michigan.
  18. The New York teams and the Mariners are always the favorite to get any hyped Japanese talent.
