  1. It's going to be way better. Leno is boring.
  2. The Longoria thing was a neat situation for those of you who don't have him on their fantasy teams. Harrumph.
  3. Tom Verlaine/Richard Lloyd D. Boon Jack White John Frusciante Sterling Morrison/Lou Reed J Mascis Curt Kirkwood Thurston Moore/Lee Ranaldo Billy Zoom
  4. Watching Tigers @ Twins right now on mlb.tv. Impressed with the Twins TV guys. Not adding any particular insight, but these are the least homerish TV guys I've seen in a long time -- they've already acknowledged 2 bad calls that went in the Twins favor. That never happens.
  5. Hey bobbob, if you ever meet Zeke again, will you ask him about the time he suckerpunched Laimbeer in practice and broke his own hand? I don't have any real questions about it, I just want to know about the expression on his face when he has to talk about it.
  6. It's certainly possible. But it's also possible that he was actually entitled to those royalties all this time, but didn't want to go through the public whipping he's going to receive at the hands of Wilco fans until he needed the money so much that it didn't matter.
  7. I would speculate that I was not there and probably don't have enough information to make a judgement on this one way or the other.
  8. Matt Garza is unreal today. Just lost his perfect game in the top of the 7th, but has still faced the minimum as the next guy hit into a DP.
  9. Yeah, I was gonna say, 29 is the "official" age, but who knows.
  10. Yeah, Verlander's peripherals are all pretty good and even were decent last year when he seemed to suck so bad, so I'm actually not too worried about him. The Tigers offense has actually underperformed for the most part, other than Cabrera, who is playing out of his mind, and Inge, who will come back to earth soon. If the pitching holds up I think they have a shot to contend this year, especially considering how weak the division is.
  11. Thanks everyone. It was a pretty good birthday, despite feeling so old. The happy birthday wishes are much appreciated.
  12. I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is, but I see a lot of youtube videos have been posted, so I'll just do that. NATSUMEN:
  13. Not sure if I'm ready to call Gallaraga "great" just yet, but my fear of a sophomore year collapse seem to be unfounded so far. And nice to beat up on the Sox who have pretty much owned the Tigers recently (I think it's 35-20 Sox going into this season in the 3 years since I've lived in Chicago, which as been absolutely brutal for me).
  14. I think Minaya is a good GM, but I also think he would have seemed a lot less godlike to fans of any team that hadn't suffered through Steve Phillips.
  15. Rod is at his best when it comes to the accidental entendre.
  16. It's not bad, provided you have a decent-sized monitor. Way better than only getting to see my team when they play one of the local teams.
  17. Wasn't that the stitch 'n' pitch game? On the mlb.tv home page, near the bottom you can type in your zip code and it will tell you which (if any) teams are blacked out in your area. Or consult your best tech nerd friend and he can advise you on an IP masking program.
  18. No, I only have the basic service, though I'm sure the premium is noticeably better. The picture has improved since last year -- not so choppy and pixelated, but crystal clear now. And though most of the new features are available only to premium subscribers, there are a few that are on the basic package, like the highlight log, easily accessible game summary and box score, etc.
  19. Tigers win!!!! Only one game below .500.
  20. I'm liking Ryan Perry so far. Heck yes.
  21. mlb.tv is much improved since last year.
  22. Yep. And I was so looking forward to leaving work early tomorrow. Guess that will have to wait until Tuesday.
