  1. Thanks for the birthday wishes, everybody! The Jack White and Avett Brothers pics were especially appreciated. I've had a nice, relaxing day in Clearwater, FL with my family...activities included eating beef curry, drinking Stella Artois, swimming, laughing, reading and playing Boggle (not necessarily in that order). It's nice to end the day with reading such a thoughtful thread. Thanks again!
  2. Has anyone in this thread prevented you from expressing your point of view? I haven't kept up with this one, but the other election threads have had plenty of discussion between Obama supporters, McCain supporters, and those who think the whole 2-party system is fucked up...

  4. In moderation, though...right now, I only have an Obama sticker and a Wilco sticker.
  5. It's been about 15 years since I read it, so I'll need to re-read it in order to give you a semi-intelligent response.
  6. Not so "zzzzzz" lately...I wish we were seeing more of him. For example: http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_...-and-mccai.html
  7. I'm a public defender, so I cite the 5th, 6th and 14th Amendments pretty regularly...but rarely a day goes by without me using the 4th Amendment for all it's worth: That's some good stuff right there. Gotta love criminal law!
  8. If only. Unfortunately, someone far enough left for my taste will never be a viable candidate.
  9. I'm neither crazy nor stoned, but what ever happened to "of the people, by the people, for the people"? That was a nice sentiment. Which movie was that?
  10. About 200,000 people in Louisville, KY still don't have power, and apparently won't for another 10-14 days.
  11. I am an old woman named after my mother My old man is another child that's grown old If dreams were lightning thunder was desire This old house would have burnt down a long time ago Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry Make me a poster of an old rodeo Just give me one thing that I can hold on to To believe in this living is just a hard way to go When I was a young girl well, I had me a cowboy He weren't much to look at, just free rambling man But that was a long time and no matter how I try The years just flow by like a broken down dam. There's flies in the kitchen I can hear 'em
  12. Show some respect. Wait, you live in Florida...judges?
  13. I love "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives", but I haven't seen his new show.
