  1. I'll make a confession. Due to social anxiety disorder and calustrophobia, I don't go to concerts anymore (that and hearing loss from the glory days of the 70's). I get excited when I see Wilco coming to the DFW area and always make all kinds of plans to go see the boys. But in my heart of hearts, I know I won't be leaving the safety of my home office. Does that make me any less of a fan? Do I get a mulligan for the fact that I have been on board since A.M.? I've procured boots, demos and outtakes...do I get a free pass for that?

One love One life When it's one need In the night One love We get to share it Leaves you baby if you Don't care for it Did I disappoint you Or leave a bad taste in your mouth You act like you never had love And you want me to go without Well it's... Too late Tonight To drag the past out into the light We're one, but we're not the same We get to Carry each other Carry each other One... Have you come here for forgiveness Have you come to raise the de

  6. Sometimes I feel so happy, Sometimes I feel so sad. Sometimes I feel so happy, But mostly you just make me mad. Baby, you just make me mad. Linger on, your pale blue eyes. Linger on, your pale blue eyes. Thought of you as my mountain top, Thought of you as my peak. Thought of you as everything, I've had but couldn't keep. I've had but couldn't keep. Linger on, your pale blue eyes. Linger on, your pale blue eyes. If I could make the world as pure and strange as what I see, I'd put you in the mirror, I put in front of me. I put in front of me. Linger on, your pale blue eyes. Linger on, you
  7. The runway rushed up at him as he felt the wheels touch down He stood out on the blacktop and took a taxi into town He got out down on Main Street and went into a local bar He bought a drink and found a seat in a corner off the dark Well she called up her mama to make sure the kids were out of the house She checked herself out in the dining room mirror And undid an extra button on her blouse He felt her lying next to him, the clock said 4:00 am He was staring at the ceiling He couldn't move his hands Oh mama mama mama come quick I've got the shakes and I'm gonna be sick Throw your arms aroun

  9. Nice... I generally get a lift out of the jocularity around here, but a murder/suicide isn't a real good opportunity for a chuckle.
  10. The Jin, Sun and Sayid saw it on the boat trip Scattershooting while considering things (plus it's always kinda slow the last hour at work...my stuff is always done well before deadline): The other night, I was running through things in my mind and came to a bit of an epiphany. I was thinking about the Movie Millenium (or rather, the short story on which this movie is based). Premise in a nutshell: Humans in the future have developed genetic and physical problems that endangers the future of the race. Science developes an ability to time travel. People who are passengers on airliners t

  12. Wow...Even their tossoff basic track takes are sublime. Do you think George was putting on for the camera? Good lord, but he was whipping George Martin's ass...
  13. Filter's song was based on that incident: I wish I would've met you now it's a little late. what you could've taught me I could've saved some face they think that your early ending was all wrong for the most part they're right but look how they all got strong that's why I say hey man, nice shot what a good shot man. a man has gun hey man have fun nice shot now that the smoke's gone and the air is all clear those who were right there got a new kind of fear you'd fight and you were right but they were just to strong they'd stick it in your face and let you smell what they consider wrong. that'

  19. Scattershooting while ruminating on the greatness that is LOST... The references to Abraham, Mount Moriah and Jacob and Desmond refusing to sacrifice Charlie...Desmond is being tested, but by whom? Desmond's lady from the antique shop (you are not supposed to buy the ring Desmond) in the picture on the prior's desk (you had to look quick to see that one)...getting better and better here. I always had the impression the show was about Jack, Locke, Kate and Sawyer... But Desmond has been gifted and is being tested.... Here's something that keeps coming into my head: Remember Adam and
  20. Ok...after reading the responses on this thread, I thought I'd try something new and novel: responding on topic. It is not limited to email; it is inherent in all written communications. Email might have cheapened written intersocial communication due to its immediacy and ease but the written word in incapable of conveying sarcasm, tone or, in reality ,irony. In our post modern word, we have taken for granted the immediacy that phone communication allows. Additionally, the tendency to feel a need to be constantly 'on' (i.e., witty, ironic, funny) has done nothing to help this. We all eithe
