  1. Not to whine, but it is an ego thrash to be the only board frequenter to not have an advance copy of the new release.
  2. Locke has a visceral understanding of the island as his only hope of physical and moral redemption. I am beginning to feel he will do ANYTHING to stay there. He is becoming an increasingly desperate individual. Also, why did "The Island" via the spectre of Boone instruct him to help Eko...didn't pan out very well, did it?
  3. One of the great tragedies of the music business...Little Feat reforming 8 years after Lowell George's death and still calling themselves Little Feat. As disturbing as the continuation of Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Who. At least Led Zepplin called it a day when John Bonham died.
  4. PLEASE don't start trashing Little Feat because Bob is having a bad day, Waiting for Columbus is simply one of the best live records of ALL TIME. Ranks right up there with "Live at Filmore East and Rock of Ages.
  5. Sorry...can't hang with you on this one. Tom Grieve holds this as his mistake.
  6. Hang that one on Tom Grieve. Sammy Sosa for Harold fucking Baines...
  7. Peter Angelos is Black Heart to Tom Hick's Mephistopheles.
  8. Absolutely none of it. Under Bush's tenure as Team president, The Ballpark got built and the foundation was laid for the three playoff appearances. Bush was as good a president of a baseball operation as he is a bad POTUSA. Unless his name is Tom Hicks, then you are mistaken.
  9. Frank White Willie Wilson Freddie Patek Clint Hurdle Pete LaCock George Brett Hal McRae Al Cowens Darryl Porter THOSE were the days. Of course...I am a fan of the franchise that traded away Rod Darling, Bill Matlock, Sammy Sosa, Dave Righetti, Wilson Alvarez, Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez... Sigh (2 Crow dollars to anybody who know what franchise that is)
  10. I come at this from a MUCH different perspective: I did not become a regular viewer until this year. I have become well and fully addicted: reading all the transcripts online, watching podcasts, watching episodes online, reading forums...OBSESSED. After watching this seasons 'appearance' of Eko's brother and last week with Desmond's mind fuck of a flashback and prescient visions of the future (and possible futures)...the island is a bad mofo. I have come late to the party, but I want me some freaking CAKE!
  11. Well It's Saturday night you're all dressed up in blue I been watching you awhile maybe you been watching me too So somebody ran out left somebody's heart in a mess Well if you're looking for love honey I'm tougher than the rest Some girls they want a handsome Dan or some good-lookin' Joe on their arm Some girls like a sweet-talkin' Romeo Well 'round here baby I learned you get what you can get So if you're rough enough for love honey I'm tougher than the rest The road is dark and it's a thin thin line But I want you to know I'll walk it for you any time Maybe your other boyfriends couldn'
  12. There's a pale horse comin' I'm gonna ride it I'll rise in the morning My fate decided I'm a dead man walkin' I'm a dead man walkin' In St. James Parish I was born and christened Now I've got my story Mister no need for you to listen It's just a dead man talkin' Once I had a job I had a girl But between our dreams and actions Lies this world In the deep forest Their blood and tears rushed over me All I could feel was the drugs and the shotgun And my fear up inside of me Like a dead man talkin' 'Neath a summer sky my eyes went black Sister I won't ask for forgiveness My sins are all I h
  13. One of my great guilty pleasures: Bread Soft rock at it's best. I used to play Down on My Knees as a set ender. Forget David Gates...James Griffin dude, James Griffin.
  14. Not to bag on New Jersey's second favorite son (kinda like shooting fish in a barrell, but this is even worse when you consider the obvious influence: Slow dancing in the dark on the beach at Stockton's Wing Where desperate lovers park we sat with the last of the Duke Street Kings Huddled in our cars waiting for the bells that ring In the deep heart of the night to set us loose from everything to go running on the backstreets, running on the backstreets We swore we'd live forever on the backstreets we take it together
  15. I have the ender for every list of cheezy, obnoxious, horrilbe 'love longs' Bobby Goldsboro --- Honey
  16. Before the junk and the scotch took his voice, Manuel was transcendent. A couple more to the list here. A singer who has all kinds of chops: Paul Rodgers Imagine the first time you heard him: Van Morrison Heh...great minds think alike...posted mine before I saw yours...ergo the edit
  17. I was thinking more the Ipcress File or A Clockwork Orange
  18. Managed to get 16 on topic posts before the wheels fell off. Don't you have anything better to do?
