We play a game in the office called "Who's having the worst week?" A lot of candidates this week...

"My favourite things" with Jeff in Frankie Magazine

No...but it shows a cultural hubris that we in the US are accused of having cornered the market. -

What I find most distasteful in the statements from the Penn State officials (including JoPa) is that they fufilled their LEGAL obligations. Too many people too concerned about losing money and prestige for a football program.

Ouch

Yeah...a bit of the MMJ reverb and vibe. Nicely done song. Hope you stick around this time.

JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound cover Wilco
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to LouieB's topic in Just A Fan
I hope that Steven (and Bob and Tom) are actually responsible for the playlists on their shows. It adds to the allure of those artists, that's for sure. As for JC Brooks, he's a Chicago phenomenon. Kind of like the Reverend Horton Heat in Dallas. -

a). I think Steven has a tad bit more stature that J C Brooks. But I wouldn't mind the jibe about the scarf. He wears the thing to stand out. . As Lou was the OP and he is from Chicago...yadda yadda yadda. c). Little Steven's channel on SiriusXM is in the rotation. I have given up on terrestial radio I like how 'b ).' gets macroed into . The world would be a better place if things were replaced by emoticons. -

Could you exist with only 30 albums?

I'm familiar with the Go Betweens (and yes, I have a record or two of theirs, including the reunion record). I was particularly saddened when Grant McLennan passed away several years ago. -

I assumed the writer was doing what the Brits/Aussies/Kiwis do and used their slang as opposed to what was actually said. Kind of the way they use their own pronunciations, no matter what is correct (Calling President Barack (as in Barracks) Obama). -

Hey...it is what it is. Sometimes you folks from Chicago forget that not all of us are denizens of the Windy City and are not familiar with all the nuances of the fair city. -

This was the video with the black guy with the man boobs, right/ -
The only fans who compare to Wilco fans in terms of disliking (or at least expressing outright comtempt) a band/artist that they proclaim to love are Springsteen fans. It can get quite funny at times on the Springsteen forums.

So...he's not responsible for not reporting it because HE WASN'T REQUIRED TO BY LAW. Wow. Sleazy. Unethical. Immoral.

Yes...but WHY? -
Well Mr. Cranky, I don't propose it as a replacement...it is only a variation. Having listened to YHF probably 1000 times over the years, I sometimes like to hear it with a different perspective. That's all. It's not like I proposed painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa or writing a different ending to Romeo and Juliet. I just sometimes listen to a handful of songs added to to YHF. Sometimes. Not always. Not usually. Sometimes.

Certainly not. But the amount of anger and frustration some have for this record seem to be derailing the matter at hand. But, passionate posts certainly add a little spice around here.
