Probably not (afte allr, Marines aren't shrinking violets). Uniform protocol. I thought it interesting that the Marine cited didn't comment about the guy being at the event. He was troubled by the apparent lack of respect for the traditions and protocols that they shared.

Wasn't my critique. Just thought it was a bit interesting. The jar heads do take those things seriously

Wait a minute...didn't Jerry Orbach die?

" Not only is he wearing his cammies at an improper time and in an improper location, you don't ever put your medals or ribbons on that uniform. The insignia belongs on the collars, not the chest."

Sometimes Neil isn't so...esoteric There's a bar hall queen down in Charlotte town. I'd sure like to see her when the sun goes down. I swear her hair is midnight black. And I can't wait till I get back. Carolina queen, She's a walking love machine. I'd like to make her scream, When I bite the bullet. Bite the bullet. Born and raised at the top of the South. You know she knows what it's all about. Good old boys are coming from miles around. Wanna watch that bullet lay 'em down. Carolina queen, She's a walking love machine. God but that was an awkward exchange. Almost as uncomfortable as the whole Jay Bennett mixing HMD scene.

Nigel Tufnel Day! -
I thought about that right after I wrote it. But I stand by it. Hamilton isn't paid to be a doubles hitter. He's a middle of the order guy with all that entails.

A new day for sure. It probably was an either or proposition, and, in retrospect, it worked out well. Eventually, the Rangers are going to have to pony up for pitching. But maybe not this year. They have CJ Wilson going into Free Agency; however, Feldman is healthy (he was a 17 game winner in 2009) and there is talk, once again of moving Feliz to the starting rotation. With the success of Ogando in the rotation, maybe they can catch lightening in a bottle again. For once, this team actually has a wealth of pitching and multiple options.

So....I shouldn't feel good for the boys?

The Rangers don't sign Beltre, Young wouldn't have made the trade demand. And, with the new ownership group, there was money to do both the Lee and Beltre deals.
-
The scary thing is that Hamilton, Beltre and Napoli were REALLY cold this series. I know it's not fair to bring this up, and I know the reasons why he made the choice he did, but do you think Cliff Lee would like a redo?

As much as I love Wilco, I gotta say that strippers dancing to ANY Wilco song brings to mind daytime strippers with stretch marks and gunshot wounds. Just saying...

Part of Summerteeth's appeal (for me) was the really game changing radical departure of the sound. While they had shown they were heading someplace different, this thing really blew the lid off.

well...as I just picked it up from the link williamblanda posted, I don't think I'll be spending $150.

Your favorite opening ACTS of all-time, ever?

I can't remember who they opened for, but I saw Thin Lizzy is Shreveport in the mid-70's. (checking out the ThinLizzyGuide.com website, looks like it may have been in support of Journey in 1979...back when Greg Rollie was still in the band...but that really doesn't feel right) I remember nobody in the crowd had any idea who they were until they played "The Boys are Back in Town". I remember "The Cowboy Song" was out of this world. -
Same lyrics I think...first and second verses reversed
