  1. King, my friends and I were near the front at Ashleys as well. If you were offended by our conversations about prostate exams and colonoscopys, well, I apologize.
  2. I guess I need to remember that some opinions are more valid than other opinions. Jeez, lighten up. I wasn't in the mood for the songs mentioned. Notice I didn't say anything negative about ATWYS, Ashes, of the crowd sing-along to Jesus?
  3. Highlights from last night show for me were in no particular order Handshake Drugs (which is just a freaking awesome song live, John's bass line was very prominent), the AM duo (both of which I requested online), One Wing (which was a new song I expected to be great) and You Never Know (which is the new song played that suprised me that it sounded so great live as I am not a fan of the recorded version). Low points for me included the relatively downer mood created by including Radio Cure, Either Way and Company in my Back fairly early on in the setlist. I was also rather disappointed in ho
  4. When it comes to baseball, Scully is number 2 right behind Ernie Harwell. My favorite broadcaster of all time is Keith Jackson in his prime. When he showed up on campus, you knew it was a big game.
  5. For some reason, I don't think the parents will consider this option.
  6. I would love to see a Ted Leo & Wilco bill.
  7. I don't think Wilco is playing a few nights w/i 30 miles of each other . . . 300, maybe, but 30, no. That said, I am seeing the boys at Hill on Friday and they could do a 70 minute version of Spiders followed by Less Than You Think with a 40 minute drone and I would be happy (even though I've requested Box Full of Letters and Casino Queen online).
  8. Tell me what is scarier than a four-assed jack-o-monkey (except for Donnie Darko, of course).
  9. The Tigers are killing me, that 10th inning where Rayburn starts it off by botching a routine fly ball into the tying run on third with no outs and then capping the inning by gunning the dude down at home was too much. C'mon boys, win it for Ernie in the 12th.
  10. I seriously thought about putting a "Never" option, but c'mon, even a blind squirrel will find a nut once in a while.
  11. I truly fear that my favorite team may go 0-16 again.
  12. Well, from the alum's perspective, Rich Rod wasn't on the hot seat for either one of those reasons this year. If this team goes 3-9 again, he might be on the hot seat next year, but that is not going to happen (unless Tate and Denard suffer season-ending injuries in the next couple of weeks). And the b.s. about not following the rules will not be substantiated. Do you really think that Michigan's training practices are any different than what went on at WVU under Rich Rod or at any competitive football program? GO BLUE!!! BEAT EASTERN!!!
  13. Well, as the only Michigan alum in a family full of Sparty's, yesterday was the holy trinity, so to speak. Plus, I was on TV after Tate overthrew Koger with about 3:30 to go in the fourth (for those who saved it on TiVo, I was not the youngin' w/ no shirt and his chest painted blue). One of the most exciting games I've ever had the pleasure to witness in person. Go Blue!!! Beat Eastern!!!
  14. Well, now he can say hi to all his friends
  15. This cannot be said enough today GO BLUE!!!! BEAT THE IRISH!!!! And remember, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Forcier
  16. Imagine how bad they would have been last year without the extra practice. With that said, GO BLUE!!! BEAT WESTERN!!!!
  17. Teenage Riot - SY Keep On Rockin in the Free World (electric version) - NY Like a Hurricane (live) - NY&CH Mahgeetah (live) - MMJ Black Dog/Rock and Roll/Four Sticks - Led Zep Like a Rolling Stone - Dylan
  18. Didn't they actually call us a cult? Where do we get the Nudie inspired hooded cloaks?
  19. Wow, no mention of rehab, UT, or direct reference to YHF/Reprise. Pretty good little segment about Jeff . . . I mean Wilco (could have talked a little bit about the other fellows).
  20. Not to nit-pick, but do you mean Ghost was the first album the current lineup toured to support, or do you mean it was the first album the current lineup recorded. Because if you meant the latter, you got your facts wrong. As for the original question, I think most of Wilco's songs are better live, especially with the current line up. The one exception is Handshake Drugs. The studio version on Ghost is nearly perfect. The bass line, the noise breakdown, and then the intro into Wishful Thinking are what make that track an all-time classic that I never get tired of.
  21. Isn't this the same interview that was on "World Cafe"? If it is, watch out for the "learn to use the search function"/"quit starting redundant threads" police.
  22. You under-estimate the stupidity of the American electorate. And not to offend any Canadian, Mexican, Latin/South American citizens who are members of VC, when I say the "American electorate" I mean US, but I assume you knew that. Just covering my PC ass, bitches.
  23. Oct 16 - Wilco @ Hill Oct 17 - Delaware State @ U of M This will be a very good weekend - my favorite band and most likely my favorite team's last win for the 2009 season Go Blue!!! & Go Wilco!!!
  24. Yesterday my homebrew buddy and I made the trip up to Holland to check out the New Holland Brewing Pub. To make a long story short, we had no idea where we were going once we hit downtown Holland, but somehow after making a right-hand turn, going two blocks, and then turning left and going one block, we were there. My car must have an auto-pilot feature to great beer. And speaking of great beer, while I was there, I had the barrel aged Mad Hatter IPA which was very good, tried the Rye Hatter, which wasn't quite to my liking, tasted the Vienna Lager, which was fantastic, sampled the Existen
  25. "She knows nothing of Eminem’s suburban gangster flow" I just hope Marshall doesn't go after JT like he did with Moby, Triumph, or Bruno.
