  1. I LOVE this book. I read it over and over as a kid. I gave it to my two nephews who were born in Georgia and are now living in Northern VA, just to make sure that they have an appreciation for the Great Lakes. They love it too.
  2. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - HST The Civil War - Shelby Foote (all three volumes) The Godfather - Mario Puzo Brave New World - Aldous Huxley For Whom the Bell Tolls - Hemingway
  3. One theory bandied about is that any tangible physical object that the time-jumpers are in physical contact with at the time of the hum-and-flash will move through time with the time-jumpers. For example, Sawyer has the 1950's era rifle that he took from Ellie during all of the flashes in last night's episode. I have not gone back to watch the first flash with the zodiac on the beach, but Juliet may have been sitting in or touching the Zodiac during that flash. eta: The time-jumpers may not be aware of this fact and mistakenly believe the zodiac will be at the beach.
  4. Unless of course one of the teams is the Lions.
  5. I like how they are slowly developing David-Wallace-Slowly-Coming-to-the-Conclusion-that-Michael-Scott-is-an-Idiot-but-Can't-be-Fired story line. I predict that by the end of the current season Wallace learns that the Scranton office above-average performance is due to Jim, thus setting up a monumental clash between Jim and Michael.
  6. I highly doubt that your travels will take you anywhere near Telluride CO, but if they do, you must get some baked goods at Baked in Telluride. Micheal Phelps agrees with me.
  7. You could have been Joe Dirt. Admit it, you rock a mullet, right?
  8. "HIGH LIFE!" Best commercial of the night.
  9. I guess I was "preaching to the choir" then. And I agree with you 100% that recent administrations have greatly increased the use of the executive order power. I can envision someone challenging the current administration's use of the e.o. power in court and when it finally gets up to the S. Ct., the Conservative/Strict Construcionists will grant cert and then may reign in the use of the power.
  10. It has been a loooong time since Con Law, but the legal basis for executive orders implicitly comes from the Constitution vesting the Executive Power with the President. Basically, Executive Orders are the directions from the Head of the Executive Branch of Government (the President) the the various Executive Branches instructing how the laws passed by Congress are to be executed.
  11. Look, I don't want to hijack this thread and go all Good Ol' Neon on ya. Let's just say that I won't be rooting for Warner, ok?
  12. I actually heard on some sports-radio morning show earlier this week that she has had a complete makeover and is completely unrecognizable from the aforementioned look. Frankly, I'm afraid to do a Google Images search for Brenda Warner.
  13. No offense intended, but it is easy to NOT root for Warner.
  14. 42 on this one. My three day results were 40(or 41) for my official and 40 & 42.
  15. I just quickly did last night's test in as close to a timed atmosphere as possible and got 40 correct, which is the same as my result from the official try Tuesday night (unless of course I said Blanchet instead of Winslett, i'm not sure so I am counting that one as a wrong resposne on Tues.).
  16. Hell, that's not fair. After all, Cassopolis is practically in Indiana.
  17. My understanding from last year is that there are different questions over the three nights of the on-line test, but the categories are the same.
  18. Coming soon to a theatre near you . . . the long awaited sequel . . . CON-RAIL starring Nicholas Cage.
  19. I also did mercenary instead of freelancer. I had no ideal of that was the origin of "freelancer" but it makes sense. As a helpful hint for anyone who is taking the test tonight or tomorrow, don't hit enter after you type in your response, let the 15 seconds run out and your answer is entered automatically. If you hit enter, you move to the next question right away. The benefits of letting the time run are (1) if you immediately know the response, you get a chance to "catch your breath" and settle down a little and (2) if you are typing in a last second resonse, you might time out and whe
  20. I'm sort-of miffed at a couple of the ones that I missed. The IN and "prompt" responses came to me right as time was expiring and I had typed in "M" and "cue". The only ones that I had no clue on were the Elgin Marbles and Patricia Cornwall. But, my complete and utter Vishnu guess was spot on, so I have that going for me.
  21. Discussion on the Jeopardy! Board re: Tues. Night Online test I think I got 40 out of 50 correct. Maybe that will be good enought to get a call to another audition, but I'm not counting on it.
  22. I feel like the Cubs, next year will be the year.
