I'm with you on needing to man up. The start of that speech was not very good, thanking everyone like an Academy Award winner. But Al Gore our President-elect is not. He got to the meat of that speech and I was spellbound.

WOW!

Compare these crowd shots. Which one looks like the better representation of the good ol' USA?

This may be the most historically significant day during my lifetime. I will never forget where I was and how I felt on 9/11. I will also never forget where I was and how I felt at 11:00 pm on 11/4/08. This is a great day.

From a Wolverine to a Buckeye, all I can say is glad to have you in our camp!

Hey Fidel, STFU! CNN just did a report that McCain/Palin is doing robocalls in S. FLA saying that Fidel has endorsed Obama.

Great article, but what would have happened if young Alexander hit the wrong icon/vote button on the screen?

I'm throwing Freedom on when I get home and let the electric "Rockin in the Free World" play over and over and over . . .

I'm sure there are stories like this happening all over the country: Make me proud to by an American, just like Michelle Obama.

Unfortunately it does not exist, but I would give my left nut to hear a recording of WJB's original Cross of Gold Speech at the 1896 DNC in Chicago. The conclusion to that speech is about the finest oratory regarding protecting the little guy from the powerful.

God (or what ever diety/spirit/intangible force you subscribe to) forbid McCain wins tonight, can you imagine what is going to happen at the Obama rally tonight? Grant Park, large angry mob, Chicago Police, Mayor Daley. Yikes. With that said, Obama is going to win.

You must go sometime. Seriously. In fact, I think you will have a chance to go much sooner than I will have a chance for a return trip.

How long did you wait in line to vote?
IATTBYB replied to Serak_the_Preparer's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
15 minutes between getting out of the car and getting back in. I live in a rural township between Kalamazoo & Battle Creek, MI with two voting precincts in the township. I went to vote at 8:00 a.m., the polls had been open for an hour, and according to the electronic scantron voting machine, my ballot was the 89th ballot of the day. -
Have you been to the Rose Bowl? I went to the U of M - Texas game in '05, and it was one of the best game experiences I have ever had. The only thing that would have made it better (other than that blasted Texas kicker making the final FG as time was expiring) would have been if USC or UCLA had been the opponent. In my opinion, the Rose Bowl truly lives up to its reputation as the "Granddaddy of all Bowl Games." It is the only bowl game that I will definitely watch even if my favorite team is playing in the CapitalOne/Outback/Alamo/MotorCity (or sitting home licking its wounds like this ye

Orlovsky out indefinitely w/ sprained thumb: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8751742 With Henson, Stanton, and the soon-to-be-signed Culpepper at QB, FNC/CNN/MSNBC declares that the Lions will finish 0-16 this year.

#1 is friggin' hilarious.

I have always said that Michigan could go 1-whatever as long as the one was against Ohio State and it would be a good year. Unfortunately this season is too damn close to testing that theory.

FYI, the "Can't-Keep-A-Secret Chick" is a recurring character.

I wasn't going to bring this up, but since Michigan is ending a lot of historic streaks this season, they probably should end the 4 year losing streak to tUoOS. Since it is now November and my beloved Wolverines do not have much to play for the rest of this season, I guess it is not premature to break out the Go Blue!!! Beat the Bucks!!! And let's keep the Jug: Go Blue!!! Beat Goldy!!!

Purdue 48 Michigan 42 - Well, it's officially over. The first sub-.500 season in Ann Arbor since 1967. The first bowl-less season since 1974. Hopefully Michigan will rediscover the defense that was pretty good early in the season and the offense will continue to show some signs of continued improvement. Offensively today, Minor was a freaking beast, and Threet showed some signs of improvement with his accuracy. Next week is the battle for the Little Brown Jug. Go Blue!!! Beat Goldy!!!

Since I am not a fair weather fan Go Blue!!! Beat Purdue!!! It's going to be a pretty dismal game, but hey, at least Michigan has a chance in this clash of the titans. Plus, it would be nice to beat Tiller one more time after his "snake oil" comment when RichRod poached a "prize" recruit away from West Lafayette (did I even correctly spell that?) at the last second.

Did anyone else notice that JT had his Wriststrong bracelt on? When he said he had something to give to Steven, I thought he was going to whip it off and hand it to him.

I don't recall the South Haven lighthouse ever being referred to as Big Red. For some reason I think that is what they call the Holland lighthouse. For some lighthouse trivia, did you know that Michigan has the most lighthouses of any state? Come on up A-man, check out a lighthouse, and stimulate our dire economy. eta: FYI, that is the South Haven South Pier lighthouse on Lake Michigan.
