  1. Changed the desktop background this week. It was really windy on Sunday and the Kalamazoo Gazette sent a photographer to South Haven to get the annual waves-crashing-over-the-pier shot:
  2. Obama will have 18 months to turn things around, or your going to see a replay of the first Clinton term when the opposition party takes Congress back. You heard it here first.
  3. I was going to say London Calling, but that came out in '79, so I will go with The Magnificent Seven.
  4. ESPN (via AP) reporting Willingham stepping down as coach of the Huskies at end of season. Chances of him ever getting the head coaching job at a Division 1 school are probably pretty low at this point. Seems like a nice enough guy, but man, what a terrible recruiter.
  5. CNN Link So much for insisting on a speedy trial so as not to cause a problem with your re-election campaign.
  6. True, but tradition plays a big role in where we eat on football Saturdays. We've been hitting those spots ever since we became alumni back in the day when Bo was still the coach.
  7. I was going to say the pass interference non-call against Desmond. Hell yeah, pre-game lunch at Blimpy, post-game dinner at Cottage Inn. I still had a good time despite the fact that the wrong team was carrying the large, ugly wooden trophy around the South end of the field at the end of the game.
  8. I'm not certain that the Big 11 will get two BCS berths this year even if PSU is in the MNC game. All I know is that my beloved Wolverines will be watching all of the bowls on T.V. this year. I'm just glad I didn't call my family from the Big House when Michigan took the lead in the 3rd quarter on Saturday. Sparty was by far the better team on the field and they deserved to win that game. I'm just glad that the Minor TD reception did not result in the winning margin for Michigan because it was the wrong call and Sparty would have been justifiably pissed that they lost the game on such a b
  9. Well, only one day until the battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Thanks to tUoOS beat down on Sparty last week, my family has not given me to much crap about the game. Hopefully the Michigan team that showed up for the 2nd half against Wisky will show up tomorrow for all four quarters. For some crazy reason, I have a good feeling about the game. My prediction, Michigan 27 MSU 23 and a quint w/ blue cheese, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, mayo, and green olives on a onion roll w/ onion rings from Blimpy Burger for me. No matter what happens, I come out a winner. Go Blue!!! Beat Sparty!
  10. Good God, is any team more frustrating than Michigan this year. Against Illinois and PSU, they look like they finally get it in the first quarter then completely regress to poor execution for the remainder of the game. No ability to block and horrible tackling lead to blowouts in games that started out so promising. I can't imagine why RichRod thought bringing in Sheridan was the correct thing to do in the second half. Oh well, its U of M/MSU week in the Great Lakes State. It should be fun. Go Blue!!! Beat Sparty!!!
  11. From what I've seem from Sparty this year, they are playing football like you typically would expect a Big 10 team to play football, servicable QB who doesn't make many mistakes throwing the ball, a bunch of really big O-lineman who like to knock people down, a tough and hard-hitting D-line and LB corps, really good secondary that hit hard and makes big plays, and of course Ringer. They are an experienced team and have finally hired a no-nonsense coach. If they can keep the talent coming in, and the coach doesn't develop the Saban complex (i.e. Izzo-envy) they will be a tough team for quite
  12. This is going to be a horrible weekend for football. My beloved Wolverines are going to get ripped to shreds by PSU. Good bye 9 game winning streak. tUoOS plays Sparty. No matter what happens in that game, there is no good outcome. I have always said that my two favorite teams are Michigan and whoever is playing tUoOS. But as the lone Wolverine in a family of Spartys, if Sparty wins tomorrow the upcoming Mich-MSU week will be unbearable. My mother, father, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins who have endured years of my Michigan arrogance assholery (according to long-gone Sparty HC Daryl
  13. The best part about Lewis' appearance on TDS was the fact that JS had to fight for 2 or 3 minutes to get the most important question into the segement - "Your penis has a neck brace?" That one comment was priceless.
  14. "Uh Oh" I think I'd like to live in your neighborhood.
  15. What the Secret Service didn't realize was that Kenny Holland re-signed Probert and Kocur to one-day contracts. Not caught on film was the pummeling W took at the hands of those two old enforcers. Witnesses were overheard saying that they hadn't seen a beat down that bad since Claude Lemeiux did his imitation of a turtle.
  16. Damn, how bad was it under Bowden when you have quotes like this (From ESPN):
  17. Good luck, and hopefully you will get a monsoon real soon.
  18. That was not pleasant. 2-10 is looking more and more likely for Michigan. They just aren't a very good team this year. With that said, Go Blue!!! Beat PSU!!! On a somewhat related note, Sparty is looking very good against NW. Ringer is a freaking stud.
  19. I could just as easily ask why all the swooning love for Pieholden? It's not a bad song, but there are so many better songs in the Wilco arsenal. I personally prefer the rock-n-roll Wilco over the ballady/poppy Wilco. Give me a set list with Misunderstood, ATWYS, Spiders, Casino Queen, Passenger Side, Outtasite, Monday, Dreamer in my Dreams, Box Full of Letters, Too Far Apart, Hoodoo Voodoo, IATTBYH, Pot Kettle, Handshake Drugs, Shot in the Arm, Kicking Television, Thanks I Get, Lets Not Get Carried Away and I would be one happy camper.
  20. Me too. Threet for Heisman in '11! Those who stay will be champions - Bo Schembechler, 1969
  21. Wyman may not have had any charisma on stage, but come on dude, saying that he sucks is kind of harsh. Plus, he was most likely saving his energy for when it really counted, if you know what I mean, nudge nudge wink wink.
  22. If the only thing John Stirratt ever did was the bass line on Handshake Drugs, he would go down in the Bassist's Hall of Fame. Thank goodnes John has done some other things as well. But the bass line in Handshake Drugs is da bomb as the kidz say.
  23. Okay, let the nightmare continue. At least Michigan has the team that got blown out by bobbob's school coming up. Go Blue!!! Beat Toledo!
  24. Chewed up by multiple large fierce members of the weasel family? A Michigan Alum can dream, can't I?
  25. At least it wasn't this Juice that killed Michigan today. Go Blue!!! Beat Toledo!!!
