Still no Doves leak?

That was the first thing I said when I came out of the movie. My husband didn't even notice the extreme similarity until I mentioned it. YES, YES, and YES.

Jon Stewart destroys Mad Money's Jim Cramer
Mrs. Peel replied to Sir Stewart's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
But neither does the Wall Street Journal, so is it smart to read WSJ but not to watch Cramer? Plenty of people don't know that one is accurate and one may not be. -
Jon Stewart destroys Mad Money's Jim Cramer

I'm sure that, given the way CNBC presents itself, a lot of people think they are a reliable news source, and an alternative to the WSJ. They certainly don't tell people they're a bunch of windbags who will probably be wrong half the time. I know I will not be reading a WSJ any time soon, sorry. I can't comprehend financial columns, and sometimes seeing someone explaining things to me on TV is a lot easier to understand. I don't watch any of these shows except an occasional Suze Orman episode, so I don't know how all of the CNBC shows work, but I will say that having Orman spell things out -
Jon Stewart destroys Mad Money's Jim Cramer

If it were, no one would know who to side with after Cramer said he voted for Obama. -
I'll have to remember that....it's my anniversary, and would be the perfect gift for the husband.

There were a few head scratchers, but I absolutely loved the muzak version of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" in Veidt's office.

Jon Stewart destroys Mad Money's Jim Cramer

That was the best interview I've seen in a long time. And to think, it took someone on Comedy Central to make these points. I think when people come on The Daily Show, 9 out of 10 don't realize that Jon Stewart is an extremely intelligent person who clearly does his homework. -
What shows did you have a chance to go to but didn't?
Mrs. Peel replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Someone Else's Song
You were not a true fan if you never saw Donnie disappear behind 20 foot tall playing cards. -
I'm lucky in that my husband and I both have similar tastes in music, so we don't really ever "drag" each other to shows.

Why not have 50 variations on a theme? Is that OK with you, ObliviousToMyself? Flick? For me, hands down it's the 5 nights of Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros in Brooklyn, 2002. Our friend called every night after each show to tell us we needed to come the next night because he was so amazing, but we never made it down. Next time, we said.

I don't know who recommended this a long time ago (probably in a NP thread), but whoever you were, thank you.

How about concerts you had tickets for but never saw?
Mrs. Peel replied to John Smith's topic in Someone Else's Song
I can't think of many safer places for a woman to be than at a Sleater-Kinney concert. Maybe a K.D. Lang show. -
I think it's especially funny that someone from The Germs is arrested for possession of soap.

I think Drew (tongue-tied lightning) had tickets too and didn't go for the same reason! It wasn't so much that I had a lot to do, but when we realized the date we knew we were going to hit a TON of traffic in and out of the city. -

Who are the 5 best live bands you've ever seen?
Mrs. Peel replied to hardwood floor's topic in Someone Else's Song
I can't believe I forgot about Jenny Lewis/Watson Twins/M. Ward/Conor Oberst (yuck) in a beautiful converted church in NYC. That was an event more than a show....the seats were set up like we were in church with programs and everything. Jenny and the twins came from the back of the church and out of sight, slowly walking up the aisle singing "Run Devil Run". I got chills. Then when she did "Born Secular" solo on the piano I actually teared up. The whole experience was was so beautiful. -

Oh yeah, me too! When I got the tickets I didn't realize it was Thanksgiving week. -
Thank you!! Just got tickets for Boston. Now, there's a little matter of a wedding in CA to contend with.

That was one of my favorite pictures I saw on your site. -
