Off topic for a moment....can someone explain to me how a hookah pipe works? I'm serious. We've had several discussions about this in our house and no one can definitively explain how it works. Why does the water bubble when you inhale when there isn't anything heating it? I can see that it might bubble if you're exhaling into the pipe and the stem goes down into the water, but how does it bubble when you're inhaling? Also, I know the water is acting like a filter, but in the pipes I've seen nothing actually sucks the smoke down into the water. (I have never smoked, BTW.)

What's the deal with Terminal 5, Paul? I haven't been there yet but they seem to get a lot of good bands. Is it too big to enjoy the shows?

Well someone at NPR obviously likes the album so much they couldn't wait to air it because I heard 'Coda' as a bumper between two news stories on my way home tonight.

It's hard to believe things are good between any of them.

I had a bad ebay ticket experience so I don't take any chances anymore. I've seen them enough times to get by for a while.

I think that's what I paid for NYC too. FWIW, I may be the only one complaining about ticket prices in various threads.

Jesus. $46.50 a ticket for Radio City. No thank you. I guess I'll put them down as another band who has become too popular for me to see another live show.

Still my #1 too. I believe you are correct. I hear the lyrics a tiny bit differently than I originally did and they fit your theory more than mine.

My first night at college, my roommates all went to a frat party and I stayed in my room, alone and depressed. Around midnight I turned on the college radio station and heard good punk rock. I listened to these crazy dudes for an hour, and then I called the station to request Screeching Weasel ('My Right', I think) and tell them how relieved I was to hear that I wasn't the only freak on campus. I told them the name of my band and they knew who I was. Twenty minutes later I was at the student union meeting them. They saved me, and became my best friends.

I'm pretty sure she had teeth caps or something. She does look completely different now. Hillary. Duff. Not Duffy.

I rocked that game. I got stuck in the corner of the dugout when the entire gang of Baseball Furies chased me across the ball field and I killed them all one by one as they lunged at me. It was awesome. I'm sure they didn't announce it, but no one said anything. They still do Rocky Horror and let people bring in all their crap I believe.

There was a midnight showing of The Warriors at a theater in New Haven this weekend. Unfortunately Al and I are both sick and had to skip it. But our friend Brian decided to make it a little more special for the moviegoers. He has been collecting glass bottles for a few months now, and brought them to the theater to pass out for the Bottle Scene. Our friend Jere was on hand to video the event.

Thanks for this link. It was pretty eye-opening. I don't watch the show because I can't stand Kate, so I didn't realize that they are still putting their 4 1/2 year old kids in high chairs with bibs and sippy cups and encouraging their baby talk. Sounds like they know once kids get older they are no longer as cute and marketable, so they're trying to hold out as long as they can.

I can't watch that show because I can't stand how she treats her husband. That guy is a saint for putting up with her.

It's funny how that happens. Almost everyone I know (including me) couldn't get into them at first and then had an epiphany somewhere down the road.

Don't forget about Superwolf, too. I freaking love that album.
