  1. Yes, Maggie Mae. Complete cover...uh, I don't know.
  2. I could have added several more people and, perhaps, several more jobs. It's not intended to be an exhaustive listing. Do you know that answer to the question as asked? Let It Be.
  3. Which of the following musicians have NOT acted in a Jim Jarmusch film? Tom Waits Iggy Pop Benmont Tench Joe Strummer Neil Young Screamin' Jay Hawkins Jack White Meg White John Lurie Levon Helm Marc Ribot RZA from Wu Tang Clan
  4. OK, this is addictive. Match the following Velvet Underground band members with their post-VU occupation: 1. Mo Tucker 2. Sterling Morrison 3. Doug Yule A. Cabinetmaker B. Tugboat Captain C. Wal Mart employee No. Good call. Dale Bozzio is on Joe's Garage.
  5. What is the significance of this house?
  6. Correct, Chuck Wild. Patrick O'Hearn, the bass player, also played with Zappa.
  7. Wrong, she sang on Thing Fish. Zappa Talking Heads The Bears King Crimson Bowie
  8. Correct. Maybe that was too easy. Which member of Missing Persons did not work with Frank Zappa?
  9. Which vocal duo sang on recordings by T. Rex and Strawberry Shortcake?
  10. Me too, despite some of my memories being incorrect (that has a way of happening when I go to concerts and don't have to worry about driving). That show was a great way to knock Iowa and Missouri off my states visited list. If it hadn't been for a severe rain storm I would have been able to cross Kansas off, too.
  11. I stand corrected. I don't remember seeing Mikael onstage at that show, but there he is. That's definitely the show I saw. I remember Glenn's cowboy hat.
  12. I can't remember the exact years or dates, but I've seen them in: Des Moines, Iowa; Val Air Ballroom. After YHF and before AGIB, the four piece* lineup. Carla Bozulich's Red Headed Stranger (featuring Nels) opened. Atlanta, GA; Fox Theater. First tour w/ Nels & Pat. (suporting AGIB) Savannah, GA; Savannah Theater. (supporting AGIB) Atlanta, GA; Chastain Park Amphitheater (summer 2008). (supporting SBS) Knoxville, TN; Tennessee Theater (4/18/2009) (supporting SBS) *I suspect Mikael was behind the scenes for this show, contributing sounds via computer.
  13. Ron, Tony, Herbie, Wayne & Miles.
  14. The Peavey Classic series is a popular amp that can be found used for pretty cheap. Peavey must've made zillions of those things. Everyone seems to be happy with them. I almost bought one, but I got lured in by an Ampeg Reverberocket. I used to have a Roland Jazz Chorus 120. I sold it for $200 in 1997. I still regret that, although I only payed $250 for it.
  15. I'd think signing a bunch of autographs would make it hard to play guitar. I'd probably attend. It'd be cool to meet Nels. Hopefully he'll bring a guitar and play a couple pieces.
  16. Ok, so I saw them last night. The opening band was good, not great. They were a '70s-ish power trio type of band. The one handed guitar trills with the other hand held high in the air was a bit annoying, like "look how badass I am, but please ignore the fact that I'm doing the easiest and least musical thing you can do with a guitar". That's a pet peeve of mine, but fortunately the guy only did that at the beginning of the show. The rest of their set was solid. SY opened with Tom Violence and then played most (or all) of The Eternal. Non Eternal songs included Shadow of a Doubt, Whi
  17. I'll be seeing Sonic Youth tonight in Atlanta. Psyched. I'm looking forward to the opening band, too. I've heard good things.
  18. Oh ok. I'm borderline retarded when it comes to technology. Watching movies on a computer sucks, by the way.
  19. You need an xbox 360 now? I don't have an xbox 360 and I was able to watch it instantly on my computer a month ago.
  20. Most of the ones I'd name have already been named (or are being named as I write this), so I'll add a few that haven't (unless I missed them). Zappa/Mothers Jefferson Airplane The Mama's & the Papas Minutemen firehose Gene Vincent and his Blue Caps Buddy Holly & the Crickets
  21. Which of these animals is Sarah Palin least likely to shoot from a helicopter?
  22. I'm bumping this thread. I've decided to re-read this, and am now at the 'Lizard/Islands" era. Good read, although I must have a first edition as there are typos all over the place: ...Which has led me to listen to the McDonald and Giles album a couple times over the weekend. You know how every once in a while an album will be annointed as a lost classic? Love's "Forever Changes", the Zombies "Odessey and Oracle", Beach Boys "Smile", etc.? I think McDonald and Giles will one day receive that dubious honor.
