  1. OK. My next question - do teams with "bullpens by committee" win more often than teams with designated closers? And I would be in favor of a "clutch save" stat - recording all three outs in an inning when the team was up by only a run, or coming in with the tying run in scoring position and finishing the game.
  2. Immortal Technique, "Bin Laden" They say the rebels in Iraq still fight for Saddam But that's bullshit, I'll show you why it's totally wrong Cuz if another country invaded the hood tonight It'd be warfare through Harlem, and Washington Heights I wouldn't be fightin' for Bush or White America's dream I'd be fightin' for my people's survival and self-esteem I wouldn't fight for racist churches from the south, my nigga I'd be fightin' to keep the occupation out, my nigga You ever clock someone who talk shit, or look at you wrong? Imagine if they shot at you, and was rapin' your moms And of cour
  3. Utica can go right ahead and secede from the state, country and world.
  4. We are losing one each at the Gallerias in Poughkeepsie and Middletown. It will have no impact on anything, I predict.
  5. Do you not think there is some sort of psychological angle to baseball? Many have observed that having a good pitcher on the mound raises the morale of his defense a bit. You can't quantify it in a SABR sense, but I don't think it can be explained away. There is in sports a sort of group gestalt that makes a team more (or less) than the sum of its individual players' talents.
  6. Sans Wagner, the pen is kind of a roll of the dice, but they have been quite good in stretches. I think the Phils just might have the Mets' number, psychologically, like the Braves had it in the earlier part of the decade.
  7. K-Rod! I would like the Angels if only they were not the favorite team of a total douche I used to work for.
  8. Oh yeah?!?! Well, then, I don't care about your, umm, Maple Leaf and Bacon parties!
  9. Sure he did. It's called "New York City."
  10. Dude gets paid to play baseball, not to talk.
  11. Heya. Just between you and me, I would try to get past the "believing the most recent person or thing I talk to or see" thing. And don't bogart that shit.
  12. Stop listening to those people! They will rot your brain!
  13. Quick! To the Bat-Distillery, Robin! We need more Bat-Bourbon!
  14. The color scheme too. Tampa's I think now looks a bit too much like the Padres, who should go back to being brown and yellow.
  15. That's what they get for dressing up as Catwoman and Poison Ivy and surprising him like that.
  16. Good luck and vibes - a lot of times, my car problems have turned out to be not as serious as I thought they would be.
  17. Well, best of luck to him. Giants are Eli's team now, and they really took off last year after Shockey broke his leg.
  18. Well, I guess we can read it after all! How to make fun of Obama Tips for those who find it too hard to joke about the Democratic candidate. Joel Stein July 18, 2008 I believe comedic change is possible. Since the New Yorker dropped a bum joke on its cover this week, comedians have appeared on every news outlet to whine about how hard it is to make fun of Barack Obama. Really? They have an arsenal of jokes to use against a 71-year-old ex-POW cancer survivor and Obama is too touchy a subject? I'm here to help. I called some comedian friends to compile a guide to making fun of Obama. The
  19. If he wins, Europe will cream themselves anyway. Focus on the winning first.
  20. Jokes are a great leveler. I would like to believe that Barack Obama is still a mortal man, but if the culture is such that people are afraid to joke about him, Obama might start to think he is not a mortal man and that he shall not be mocked. And I really think it's a waste of his time going to Europe. Only people who would vote for him anyway care what the Europeans think of the U.S. anyway. He should stay here and start talking about health care and $4 gas and stuff like that.
