bjorn_skurj replied to Beltmann's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
You can bust a pretty serious move to Just Dance. -
Keith Olbermann suspension/ MSNBC woes

Yeah, but MSNBC has Chris Jansing, who is as hot as uranium heading into critical mass and has been ever since she was Chris Kapostasy back in Albany. -

Call me old-fashioned, but when you start giving sums of cash to politicians, you go from being a journalist or a commentator to a propagandist. One wonders if this goes on at other cable news networks. Oh, wait - http://mediamatters.org/blog/201008160046, but you can tell just by watching. As you kind of can at MSNBC. Jesus, is it too much to ask that we have a No-Bullshit News Channel? And in case you were wondering, I think NPR did the exact wrong thing by firing Juan Williams. -

Journalists should never give money to politicians. That's not our place. "The only way a reporter should look a at politician is down." If anything, the money should go the other way. -
Classical Music Suggestions

I am going to gogo's and my mom's alma mater for this tonight: One of the first American “original instrument” ensembles founded in 1973, The Aulos Ensemble, will present the program “Music at Versailles: a Royal Entertainment,” featuring selectiongs by Rameau, Couperin, and Balbastre on Friday, November 5, at 8:00pm. The Aulos Ensembles accomplishments over the past four decades have given it pre-eminence in the early music movement. The ensemble members - Christopher Krueger, flute; Marc Schachman, oboe; faculty member Linda Quan, violin; Myron Lutzke, cello; and Arthur Haas, harp -
Child-flesh doesn't hold up too well in crockpot recipes - you kind of have to treat it like veal.

Thanks, everybody! It has been a very nice day, with lots of reminders of how much people care about me. (And pot roast!)

Oh yeah - then there was the time I fucked up my knee in a Dead Milkmen mosh pit.
-
True, but I didn't think that way at the time. I was damned near inconsolable.
-
I saw Black Flag twice in the spring of 1986 - holy shit, did those dudes rock. The craziest mosh pits I ever were in were a Bad Brains show at Bard College at some point in the '80s and a 1989 Ramones show at Vassar College. In the latter, I lost a watch and a bag of weed.

Yeah, she'd be out of office. Hiding in the bunker after the Oval Office and the rest of the world was vaporized after her stupid ass got us into a nuclear war. In all candor, there is no end to the stupidity of the American people; electing a stupid president is no guarantee that we're all going to collectively wise up anytime soon.

I know! My GF read it on her iPad in Sweden and just sent me the album for my birthday. What a world we live in!

2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

I was thinking of you when they clinched last night. Congrats and best wishes, especially if it's against the Phillies! -
"Both grown"? Every Son Volt album sounds like the last, which sounds like the last UT album. C'mon now.

Some kind of karate thing, I suppose.

Was that the one with "Straight Outta Compton" in it?

Hey, I have been to a Maroon 5 concert and they at least had a black dude playing keyboards.

Oh, my dear lord, New York is saved. The rent is too damn high! The rent is too damn high!

Wilco to return to the road in the fall of 2010?

Better watch out or a panda might shoot and eat your grandma and then leave. -

Sure they were, even more so, since their low salaries put them far closer to the edge than today's ballplayers. -
I have hated Bon Jovi since I first heard their music in 1984, and that hate has not dimmed a bit in the intervening 26 years. The only way my opinion of the RRHOF could get lower than it already is is if BJ gets in.
-
You say that like it's a bad thing, though, but I can assure you, the '70s ruled.
-
It's almost to the point where Wilco studio albums are like Grateful Dead studio albums - not bad in and of themselves, but pale in comparison to the live experience.
-
I am going to be 43 next month, just so you know.

Preach on, sister. I want to hear some rock out of these dudes.
