  1. Set up an eBay alert and see if that helps. Or get the record, find someone who can do a rip from a turntable into mp3's and make the CD that way.
  2. HA! Phattest of props to Jeff for that!
  3. I'd personally love if they did a punk 45, with three or four songs per side.
  4. My friend Monkey, a.k.a. Paul Heath, painted this.
  5. I have been loving the hell out of the Hardcore History series on the fall of the Roman Republic - thanks for the recommend!
  6. I am going to watch this. What I would REALLY like to see is a miniseries based on Michael Moorcock's Elric saga. THAT would fucking rule.
  7. Prokhorov might have something up his sleeve, but Jersey is an impossible sell and Brooklyn a few seasons away.
  8. There is no future for this band. They're like 2011's Men Without Hats.
  9. It is the sound of what it's like to be a girl in the 9th grade. What's not to love?
  10. That's code for music made by black people.
  11. Heh. Wait'll Talib Kweli hears about this.
  12. The hell you don't. Without unions, we'd all be slaves, either wage or in the actual sense of the word.
  13. For some listeners, the compression that has to take place to make a music file degrades the quality to such an extent that the music becomes barely (or un) listenable. I am not one of those people.
  14. I am liking it too, but I am a bit confused by the statements that it's a great dance record. Can people post videos of themselves dancing to it so I can see what they mean? The only dance I can think to do to this record is sort of an Ed Grimley number.
  15. "Our Hearts Are Wrong" is a song I like a great deal.
  16. It is interesting to see how attitudes have changed toward unions over the last few decades. Used to be, the right to strike was pretty sacred and anyone who crossed the line was a scab and, it was generally felt, deserved whatever they got in terms of violence applied to them for their scabbery. But now, pensions in the classic sense of the word are so rare in the private sector, those of us who don't have them and must rely on SS, 401(k)'s and hope to avoid an old age of cat-food consumption are increasingly envious and resentful of those who do, which is only stoked by yearly 5-10 percent p
  17. We're just the weathermen. They make the wind blow.
  18. I was walking down the street the other day and my iPod played XTC's "Snowman" and I thought of her, as the file came from a mix she put up once upon a time.
  19. W(TA) was not a bad record - I listened to it a lot when it came out, but unlike every other Wilco record before it, I'm not sure if I ever want to hear it again.
  20. Congratulations to The Flying Dutchman; Alomar can stop by my place on his way to Cooperstown and blow me.
  21. "Born to Run" didn't define the '70s. "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck did.
  22. Unless I get back what I have been paying into it since the Anno Domini MCMLXXXVI, I will consider the social contract null and void and all those fuckers better watch the fuck out.
