  1. "The north side of my town faced east and the east was facing south."
  2. I'm reasonably sure Kevin lives across the border with me in Dutchess County, but I could be wrong. From the NYT today: Mr. Lieberman
  3. 1. Happy birthday. 2. The GOP has a guy, but there's been some talk they may try to get a better guy in an effort to swipe the seat from the Dems.
  4. My next contract will specify no appearances before 1 p.m.
  5. The giant sturgeon's near-arrival from the Cthulu dimension during this past week's Sturgeon Moon is causing many people to be a bit snippy and ungenerous.
  6. Doubt it would have helped him. Democrats separate the war in Iraq from the war on terror. In general, we feel the former was disingenuously linked to the latter by Bush, when, in fact, the war in Iraq has diverted resources and troops from killing as many al-Qaida members as we can get our hands on the effective waging of the war on terror.
  7. Have a good one! I'll think of you when we're watching Scoop tomorrow night.

  12. As I was driving across the bridge last night, the moonlight on the water was dazzling. I would have stopped to look at it, but I didn't feel like getting arrested.
  13. Hope you're enjoying this exceedingly nice day in the Hudson Valley. Tonight, the night of the Sturgeon Moon, perhaps the giant, fire-breathing, land-walking sturgeon of Haudenosaunee lore will emerge from the river at last.
  14. Holy fucking shit, I'm the first U.S. person on VC to wish you a happy birthday!
  15. It takes a while to get used to diet soda, but once one does, regular soda is unbearably sweet. And diet soda technology has really improved over the last few years.
  16. Why not? And what's so cool about that kid that he gets to sit on the stage? Is he like Nels' nephew or something? Win a contest in Tiger Beat? A "special ed" case? What?
  17. Yeah, holy shit, weren't the White Sox a juggernaut not so long ago?
  18. Thank God. Did you use one of those minicoolers like they have for about-to-be-transplanted organs?
