  1. that clip is still up on youtube, i think. searching for LP7 or nigel or some combination of those should pull it up. that clip is the biggest tease ever considering how it's just a slice and dice version of about 5 different songs, most of them barely recognizable, but damn...i want it nooooooooooow. and yeah, i'm not sure what it is about HTTT that leaves something to be desired. i think the track listing is partially it, but i think they also rushed the recording of it. if you saw them tour after the album was released/listen to bootlegs of the songs then, many have progressed and became
  2. i must say, my respect for this band has gone through the roof over the past month.
  3. if they market this properly ie. don't give everything away like most trailers do nowadays, and are able to keep everybody guessing 'wtf is this about' like the original matrix did...then yeah, it's gonna be a lotta fun.
  4. yep, still without a label. who knows what's going on there.
  5. "Down is the new Up" is the name of one their new songs. I don't mind it as a song title, but I wouldn't want it as an album title either. I wouldn't mind "Dead Air Space", despite the fact it's been the blog title for a while. There was a "New Suburbia/Suburbanite" thing floating around on the blog for a while too...I'd be down with that for a title as well. Feels kinda similar to "OK Computer". I need this album now...
  6. i'm thinking this will be out in november. MAYBE october, but i'd be surprised if the release date is is only a few months off when it's announced. having said that, when the eraser came out last year, i think it was only announced like six weeks before the release date. so, who knows.
  7. i actually had a dream last nite about some new radiohead song. no joke. that's how much i'm anticipating this album. normally i don't like to listen to bootlegs of new songs before they're released, but i caved this time last year when they were touring. "videotape," "arpeggi," "15 step", "all i need", "bodysnatchers" all have potential to be among the best stuff they've ever written. and i'm sure they've got a few more tricks up their sleeves. "this is my way of saying goodbye..."
  8. Radiohead--How to Disappear Completely "I'm not here...this isn't happening"
  9. i tried this in first year of university, except at that time i couldn't find a file where they were actually done together. i just started KID A on my computer speakers, then my stereo speakers 17 seconds later. there were some pretty cool bits--that starburst bit during "kid a", the end of "how to disappear completely", and "idioteque" was pretty cool too. it was after some guy on the atease forums went on and on about it being the coolest thing ever, and so i was admittedly a little disappointed, but it was a neat experience. nothing compared to dark side of oz, though. watching that ston
  10. the title and subtitle of this thread were a little worrisome...
  11. yeah i'm living in whitehorse this summer. didn't get tickets to the actual concert, although apparently they played 29 songs--quite a set. they did a short, 6-song acoustic set in a park downtown yesterday...didn't announce it til 4 o'clock, they took the stage at 5.30, and already quite a crowd just by word of mouth. anyway, that was pretty cool, but all it did was just make me want to go to the main show even more. and yes, the days are very, very long up here right now.
  12. yeah, on first listen last nite i was really digging that one too. the back half of this CD is so solid. actually, i really liked this entire disc, with the exception of the st. andrews track. the first scottish one was fun, but the second one sounded like a disaster to me. not sure if i'll warm up with it. and i was actually laughing out loud during conquest...not sure if that's a good or a bad sign. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOONQUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEST!
  13. sigur ros has a bunch of projects on the go. a live dvd will be out in the fall, and a CD will be released shortly after that of acoustic reworkings of a bunch of songs. then next year, a brand new CD. plus, hlemmur soundtrack and oden's raven magic or whatever its called are both finally being released this year. and i think there's also an EP coming out of new stuff. i dunno, there's a whole lot coming down the pipes. all the info is over at sigur-ros.co.uk
  14. i haven't read thru this entire thread, but here's what i've got left to be excited about: -radiohead -smashing pumpkins -interpol -sunset rubdown -wolf parade -stars -broken social scene presents kevin drew -matt good -british sea power -sigur ros probably forgetting something...but yeah. those are the main ones.
  15. is andorra by caribou worth checking out? i liked up in flames a lot when i first got it, but never really listen to it anymore. heard milk of human kindness once at a buddy's place one time and found it kinda boring. which album is it more in the vein of?
  16. i dunno what's going on with wolf parade...theyr'e touring this summer, and i think the album should pretty much be done by now. sunset rubdown's new one, "random spirit lovers", is due out in october.
  17. those weird, fragmented clips of those 5 new radiohead songs that nigel godrich posted a few days ago had me drooling. granted, you they're an absolute mess--some of their looped, being played in reverse, but i've heard bootlegs and recognized a bunch of songs, "all i need" was the easiest to distinguish. "bangers n mash" was in there too, and i think "open pick" as well. anyway, i'm so excited for that. radiohead gets me way way too excited.
  18. i agree--"unguided" definitely does not need to be 6+ min. it seems like newman just wrote it to prove that he could write something that long. it could've been half that length and just fine. having said that, it's still good. i listened to this again last nite after i got back from the bar and liked it even more. and yeah, i think the reason that i've enjoyed twin cinema so much, and this one as well, is that it actually feels like an album with some flow and pace. mass romantic and electric version are great as well, but i hear ya on the greatest hits collection...
  19. this has leaked. i don't have the link in front of me cause i'm at work, but i snagged it last nite and had a listen. very enjoyable, although much more mellow. i really like it. just saying, it's out there to be had.
  20. I think they've improved with every album. Mass Romantic is great powerpop, but almost a little too indulgent at times. Actually, MR and EV are pretty much neck-in-neck for me. Twin Cinema was a huge leap forward, I felt. It was the first disc by them where I liked every song, probably because there was a bit more variety. Songwriting got stronger, too. It was my fave disc of 05, and Challengers is one of my most anticipated CD's remaining this year.
  21. i've been meaning to pick up the okonokos dvd for ages now. really need to do it. maybe this weekend... faves: -one big holiday -steam engine -bermuda highway -lay low -wordless chorus -dancefloors that list could go on and on, really...
  22. apparently there's some radio station in chicago that's streaming the entire album right this instant, but you have to be from the US to register and listen--therefore, i can't. is anyone listening/capturing it?
  23. i really dig this album more and more with each listen. standout tracks for me are cherry bomb and the underdog. also a really big fan of finer feelings, but that weird bit about 2/3 of the way thru the song just kills the momentum everytime i listen to it. wish they'd cut that bit out.
  24. things are streamed off the 'roadcase' portion of the site, correct? been a while since i've done this. FRICKEN PUMPED.
  25. I was wondering the same thing, and how easy it would to capture that stream and then divide it into individual tracks and such...is there potential for there to be a mp3 format recording of this album floating around by midnight tonight?
