The latest Ryan Adams thread
explodo replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
According to his latest blog post, David Ryan Adams has quit the band and the biz. How long does he make it? Two weeks? -
Word.

You'd better get your tickets, bobbobbobbob: TEBOW!

Nice to see the Giants out of things. These playoffs are going exactly how I had hoped (but certainly never expected).

Is this better than Being There? I found that book to be a bit blah. An easy read and entertaining enough, but not much more than that.

How bad is the ending of the film Seven Pounds

I don't get why all these teams have to take over a month off. It always makes for terrible first quarters.

Welcome to America, son.

I drink Diet Coke even though I hardly like it. When I can afford it, I spring for Pellegrino. And in the rest of my time, I do a lot of Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry iced or hot.

If you want, we gang up and take him out. I can't stand the dude either, but he has impressed me when I actually bother to watch him play and stop listening to assholes talk about him, Jesus, and the lepers of Cambodia or whatever.

Ha, I forgot about that one. Such shitty announcers. I would have been happier with Joe Buck, sadly.
-
Maybe your hate for him has clouded how well he played? I think either player was deserving and Florida would have lost if you removed one or the other. Tebow's play in the second half was tough to beat. Lots of key third down plays, etc. I enjoyed the chants of "go for it" on third and goal from that one announcer. I thought he was going to explode and he tricked me into thinking it was fourth down.

Oh, wow, I didn't know Mike Mogis produced this. I typically dig his work.

I thought the new Pepsi logo was very Obama-inspired.

Ryan Air to offer $15 tickets from US to Europe!

I flew from Shannon Airport to Barcelona via Ryanair. It was okay. You just need to be aware as to where they are going to dump you. I would be interested in this if they were flying out of Chicago. -
I can definitely fathom people not liking Animal Collective ever - even with this record. They are still a bit weird sonically.

I know, I know. It's not that bad. But I'm 24, so I assume I'm the target demographic and I don't like it. It's almost as bad as Two and a Half Men in terms of only focusing on sex. I think good sitcoms have sex, but they also have jokes about something else every once in awhile. My list of recently released or still on the air good television situation comedies: It's Always Sunny... Stella Curb Your Enthusiasm The Office Extras Arrested Development

I beat up Bon Iver in 2006.

This is one of the worst shows ever created. Almost as bad as George Lopez.

I probably read 30 or so books a year and probably read half of 30 more. I'm an avid book quitter. My goal for 2009 is to finish a lot of those books that have marks somewhere in the middle, but I'll probably have to start from the beginning for a lot of them and that discourages me. I mean, something in the first half was obviously a turn off so it's not a great prospect to have to trudge back through it. As for my first book of 2009, a reread:

Clearly, but I think it was pretty obvious that Alabama wasn't prepared in the first quarter. So they probably were in the "we deserve to be playing in a better bowl/we'll walk all over these guys" mindset. There's no way, if Alabama had been on their game right away, that Utah is up 21 - 0 in nine minutes. That said, Utah was the better team. I don't think it's making excuses by saying Alabama wasn't ready for a team that was as good as they were. As for tonight, I'd like Texas to win.
-
I think Alabama was thinking they deserved a better game than Utah for the whole first quarter. What a disappointing two game stretch to end and otherwise great season. How shitty do you think Andre Smith feels? And the BCS officially has a mess. Surprise, surprise.

What's some of your favorite road trips you have been on?
explodo replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Indeed. I still consider myself relatively young and it has been years since I've made it past a neighboring state in a car. Depressing. I'm getting to Santa Fe within the year, though. I'll make that my resolution. As for my favorites: : A trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota where I blew my transmission and got stranded for a week during Sturgis. : A couple of trips to the Smokey Mountains, North Carolina coast, and West Virginia that I still can't shake.
