Bands you wish that you had seen, but missed the chance
remphish1 replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
Great pick! I was able to catch one of the bands final US shows back in 1999. Sandman was awesome...I wish they were still around. Glad to see a bunch of fellow Morphine fans on here! -
I have not seen Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Twilight, Lord of the Rings etc....
-
Thanks!! Will try these soon!
-
Sure whatever you can do will be appreciated!

YES PLEASE! Thanks!

I have 1998-2010 from the fan club I wish they would release a cd with all a and b sides from the fan club as an album!

I do think when you grow up with a band has an influence...unlike Poptodd and Cryptique I got into music just as Green came out. That was the REM I grew up with. Out of Time came out when I was 10 and it was not like anything else I ever heard. Sure I like the IRS stuff immensley but the Warner Brother years are when REM was shaping the musical landscape to me.

April 2012???It was out before Sept 11, 2001...I remember streaming it before I saw them at the Electric Factory back in Sept 2001...It really wasn't released til April 2002? My memory is hazy but I didn't remember waiting so long to pick up the album officially! -
I found a REM concert from 10/10/82 from the Pier in Raleigh in its entirety on youtube! Great, fun, early in their career show. I love how everything has such a fast tempo!

Anyone know if the LP will include a download code??? Otherwise I will pull the trigger! -
Yeah the closure with Mills was almost as much as a highlight as the show. Feral was awesome live and I don't understand Seperator not being played I would have loved to hear it. Another funny part was during Codex Thom forgot some words and said sh*t, sh*t it was a funny moment. The other highlight was Little by Little...Greenwood was tearing it up on that one!

Talk about a tough ticket. I had 7 people try to each get tickets and we only pulled up 1. Fortunatley I was the one who went. Alltickets were will-call. Extras were going in the $500-1000 range! I never saw so many people looking for tickets in my life on line. I usually don't care where I stand for a show and usually hang in the bak unless I am at Roseland and it is Radiohead. I am getting too old for all the pushing etc but I did manage to get and hold my ground 15 ft from Mr. Greenwood! Show was great, band sounded great, new album sounds 10X better live! Crowd was bonkers....another highl

Ackk there I am in the light blue shirt in the front row looking goofy...thanks for posting though! -

Thanks...I have been a fan since 89 (When I was a wee 9 year old)...this will be hard for me to get used to...

I blame Stipe 100% for this...Mills and Buck were happy touring and music is in their blood. Stipe is all about the NYC scene, fashion and sculptures...I saw Stipe speak at a NY Times event a few months ago and you can tell his heart was elsewhere. I was trying to put it at the back of my mind as a phase and was hoping they would get out there and tour together again. On a side note WILCO IS NOW MY #2 (after Radiohead) BAND! PLEASE DON'T FAIL ME NOW WILCO I NEED YOU!!!

http://www.brooklynv...all_it_a_d.html http://www.murmurs.com/topic/117884-rem-call-it-a-day/ Hope it is not true! I know many don't care for their later work but R.E.M. musical influence on my life and how it effected how I listened to music was huge. I am not sure what to think yet as I know their popularity has been plummiting over the years but I am in shock..

SHOULDN'T BE ASHAMED! Now that is a nice surprise...please play that in NYC

I am attending a show of his in NYC soon...I like Girlfriend so it was an easy decision....I wish though he was doing a 100% Fun or Blue Skies show because those are my 2 fav albums by him but I will take what i can get!

I am on the other side of the coin. Once I hear a song live once I don't care as much about hearing it again. I would take a song live off the new album to substitute one of the older ones I heard many times but that is just me. The rare time when I hear a new song for me live at a Wilco show is VERY EXCITING TO ME. Most recently when I saw Jeff solo and he played Whats the World Got In Store a nice rareity that I finally heard live after 15 shows...made my night.
